In continuation of the notification dated 31/07/2009, 10/08/2009 pertaining to amendment to Ordinance governing MBBS Degree Course 2004, the following amendment pertaining to pass criteria and marks distribution is notified by the Syndicate in exercise of the powers conferred under Section 35 of RGUHS Act, 1994 in its 88th meeting held on 21/04/2010.

For declaration of pass in any subject in the University examination, a candidate shall pass both in Theory and Practical/Clinical examinations components separately as stipulated below:

The Theory component consists of marks obtained in University Written paper(s) & Viva-Voce examination only.

For a pass in theory, a candidate shall secure not less than 50% marks in aggregate i.e., marks obtained in University conducted written examination and viva-voce examination added together (excluding internal assessment marks).

For a pass in practical/clinical examination, a candidate shall secure not less than 50% marks i.e., marks obtained in university practical/clinical examination (excluding internal assessment marks).

For a pass in a subject, a candidate shall secure 50% marks in aggregate (total of externals and internals).

  1. The candidate shall secure 35% of the marks in Internal Assessment to be eligible for appearing University conducted theory and practical examination.
  1. The candidate shall secure 50% in aggregate with a minimum of 50% in theory including orals and minimum of 50% in practicals for declaring to have passed the examination.
  1. The candidate shall obtain 50% of the marks in theory i.e., 150 out of 300 (University conducted examination and Internal Assessment added together) and 50% of the marks in practicals i.e., 50 out of 100 (University conducted examination and Internal Assessment added together).

Component Grouping :

Theory [Theory +Oral], Practicals [Practicals + Internal Assessment]

Minimum to Pass :

a) 50% in Theory, Anatomy & Physiology 120 out of 240 [200 (Th)+40 (Oral)]

b) 50% in Practicals Practicals 80 out of 160 [40(Pr) + 80(IA -theory & Pract)] and

Biochemistry Theory 60 out of 120 [100 (Th) +20 (Oral)] and

c) Practicals 40 out of 80 [40 (Pr) + 40 (IA- theory & Pract)], 35% in Internal

Assessment marks, 50% in subject Aggregate.

The above notification for amendment to Ordinance shall be applicable for MBBS examinations for the students admitted from the academic year 2010-11 and onwardsand is not applicable for the students admitted prior to the academic year 2010-11.
