Activities: / This is a good starter camp for Cubs. We are hoping for fine weather and light winds for kite flying and fire lighting. Cubs will also work towards their “Outdoor Badge” by learn how to put up tents, how to look after themselves at camp, building shelters and learning how to pack a rucksack. Those who have already done 2 nights camping will get their Outdoors badge.
As well as learning camping skills there will also be plenty of time for fun and games including a night time laser gun wide game on the edge of the South Downs.
Further details: / For those who have done 1 nights or who it’s their first camp will get their 1 or 2 nights badge instead.

Note: All activities will be run in accordance with The Scout Association’s safety Rules. No responsibility for the personal equipment/clothing and effects can be accepted by the organisers and The Scout Association does not provide automatic insurance cover in respect to such items.

Nights Away Kit List

All young people will need to bring their personal equipment and should be encouraged to pack themselves. This list is only a guide.
 / Complete uniform /  / Scarf, hat and gloves
 / Warm sweaters, jumpers or sweatshirts /  / Sun hat, sun cream and sun glasses
 / T-shirts or similar /  / Sleeping bag
 / Trousers or shorts /  / Foam roll / karrimat
 / Spare underclothes (one pair per day) /  / Torch and spare batteries
 / Spare socks (one pair per day) /  / Day sack and plastic drinks bottle
 / Nightwear /  / Polythene bags (for dirty clothes)
 / Hike boots or strong shoes /  / Teddy or Soft Toy (Mangs bringing his)
 / Waterproof (coat and trousers) /  / Folding Chair
 / Swimwear and towel
 / Hankies
 / Personal washing requirements and towel
It is best to pack a rucksack or sports bag that you can carry on your back. Suitcases are not suitable for tents.
All items should be clearly labelled with the young person’s name.
