Nico Dijkshoorn, Kim Holland en Barry Badpak during the 10thMuseumnacht Leiden!
The entire program of the 10th Museumnacht Leiden on the 2nd of June 2018 has been made public. The event with and in the museums of Leiden will open with a Roller Disco on the Beestenmarkt. Dutch celebrities like Nico Dijkshoorn, Kim Holland and the local celebrities of Barry Badpak will perform on the event and there will be an afterparty in the Waag.
During the Museumnacht Leiden the museums will offer programs through which the visitors can experience all collections in a different way. Highlights include musical performances of Nico Dijkshoorn, conversations about the future with Kim Holland and classes on the culture of Leiden from Barry Badpak. Visitors can also enjoy a walking insect-buffet guided by Molecular Biologist Dr. Patricia Stevens, mindhack sessions with Marc Woods and invasions by I-puppets. Arrangements and afterparty
Before the Museumnacht Leiden starts, it is possible to book a combination ticket with special arrangements. The first combination ticket exist of a guided tour through Leiden including a three-course dinner and three drinks, in three different restaurants. The participating restaurants are La Bota, the Malle Jan and the Hooykist. The second combination ticket includes three special beers at café Oliviers, after which you can join the event with suppleness.
This year the afterparty of the Museumnacht Leiden will be held in the Waag Leiden. The doors will open at 1:00 AM. Visitors of the Museumnacht can enter the party and enjoy all local artists who will colour the night and ending it with a lot of music. The tickets give free access to the after party.
The Museumnacht Leiden is organised by the Museumnacht Leiden foundation in cooperation with multiple museums in Leiden. 14 students of the A.L.S.V. Quintus will be responsible for all programming, publicity and acquisition. Together with the musea they will take care of a well-filled program. On the night of the 2th of June the following museums will open their doors for visitors: Hortus botanicus Leiden, Rijksmuseum van Oudheden, Oude Sterrewacht, Museum Volkenkunde, Japanmuseum Sieboldhuis, Molenmuseum de Valk, Erfgoed Leiden en Omstreken, Rijksmuseum Boerhaave, Naturalis (in het Academiegebouw), CORPUS 'reis door de mens' (in the Oranjerie of the Hortus botanicus) and Museum Het Leids Wevershuis. In 2017 the Museumnacht Leiden attracted 4300 visitors.
