This August, Discovery HD explores some of the world’s remote destinations that have remained untouched and unchanged for centuries, home to people who – removed from the industrialised world – live in perfect harmony with nature. Hosted by Sebastien Lafont, BETWEEN EARTH AND SKY documents these destinations - from the desert, savannah, bush, forests and mountain tops - and takes us on a breathtaking journey through the clouds in a hot air balloon. BETWEEN EARTH AND SKY premieres every Wednesday at 1700 hrs (5:00 pm SIN/HK), starting from August 19. Encores the same day at 2000 hrs (8:00 pm), Thursday at midnight (12:00 am), 0500 hrs (5:00 am) and 1000 hrs (10:00 am), and Sunday at 0900 hrs (9:00 am).
On each episode of BETWEEN EARTH AND SKY, young explorer Sebastien Lafont travels around the world in his hot air balloon to meet traditional communities who live in remote regions. By sharing their daily lives, their home and meals, Sebastien learns from their customs and builds strong relationships with the inhabitants. In exchange, he offers to take them aboard his balloon so they can see their world as never before: from the sky!
In Land Of The Dogons, Sebastien meets the Dogons of Mali, Africa's oldest civilization. And one of the tribe’s elders gets the thrill of seeing the world from a different vantage point when he takes a ride in Sebastien’s hot air balloon. Sebastien continues his journey to South Africa in search of the Venda tribe in the episode In Venda's Country. During the trip, he suffers a back injury, and tries out the traditional healing methods of a witch doctor. In Himba Country Sebastien meets a tribe in the Namib Desert called the Topnaars, and camps with the Himba people of Kaokoland whose way of life could change due to the construction of a dam. And

while on a search for one of the last remaining tribes In Berber Country, Sebastien helps an old man make bricks for his home, feasts with nomads, and meets a tribe of only women.
