Newbourne Parish Council Minutes

04/09/2017

Members of the village came to discuss the planning regarding the Fox Inn Newbourne their concerns are that the pub already has issues with parking and they are looking to increase the size of the pub further. The parking on a Sunday is bad around the pub area with cars parking all over the verges and anywhere they can find a space. The members of the public feel that there isn’t enough signs to direct people to the over flow carpark at the village hall. Another concern they have is that in the plans that barn is going to be taken down which is a listed building.

Also speeding in the village has been raised as an issue they would like to see more 30mph / please drive safely etc. signs around the village to make people think about the speed they are travelling.

Brilliant news that two members of the village that attended the meeting have joined the speed watch scheme which is running through the villages.

DC/17/3199/NOC Planning at the rear of 28 Mill Road discussed with points raised

  • Hasn’t adhered to any conditions yet in previous planning , no work done on site
  • Loss of employment opportunities in the village if the site is going to be used for long term tenants
  • Will the people living in the caravans adhere to the amount time they are allowed to stay on the site a year? A burden on local register to watch the site, council would have to monitor this.
  • Conditions need to be put in place before any new conditions /planning etc are asked for.
  • Concerns that the owner of land will get planning and then sell on the land for further development.
