New Ways Safeguarding is an independent organisation experienced in providing training, assessment, intervention and consultancy where there are concerns in respect of problematic sexual behaviour (PSB). They work directly with young people and the adults in their world which means that they regularly assist children’s services, education, industry and multi-agency teams responsible for safeguarding children. New Ways Safeguarding work closely with specialist residential services dealing with children and young people who have engaged/are engaging in problematic sexual behaviour (PSB) through the design and delivery of assessment and intervention programmes. They provide training and staff development to professionals working in the area to increase awareness and understanding of PSB. We are seeking to recruit an assistant psychologist who we will train and develop into a forensic practitioner over 2-3 year period. The key responsibilities and duties for Year 1 are outlined below. Year 2 and Year 3 will entail greater exposure to various aspects of forensic psychology, including risk assessment and therapeutic intervention programmes with children who present with problematic sexual behaviour.

Key Duties, Responsibilities and Accountabilities

Administrative duties include

•Greeting visitors to the office and directing them to the appropriate individual

•Answering telephone calls, enquiries and requests

•Taking phone messages and delivering to appropriate individual

•Dealing with incoming email from clients

•Proof reading documents

•Producing/editing documents, reports and presentations

•Establishing and maintaining permanent files – retrieving files as requested

•Organising, maintaining and updating diaries and making appointments

•Coordinating events including training and large scale client meetings.

•Processing and issuing invoices for services delivered - training will be provided.

Research duties include;

•Logging and scoring of psychometric assessments - training will be provided.

•Transcription of research material.

•Coding of research material for qualitative analysis - training will be provided.

Therapeutic duties include;

•Undertaking assessment programmes - training will be provided.

•Specialist report writing - training will be provided.

•Providing therapeutic intervention packages - training will be provided.
