NEW EMPLOYEES HIRED TO ACCOMMODATE GROWING DEVELOPMENTS IN TECHNOLOGY
iScience Interventional names two new employees in vice president positions
Menlo Park,Calif.,August 1, 2006 – iScience Interventional announced the addition of two new members of their management team: Ernie Edwards as Vice President of Marketing, and Mark Hayward as Vice President of Sales.
Ernie Edwards assumes his new role with 21 years of ophthalmic and cardiovascular device marketing experience. Edwards joins iScience from Advanced Medical Optics, where he was Director ofGlobal Marketing for Refractive and Accommodating Intraocular Lenses.

In his new role at iScience, Edwards is responsible for marketing strategy and direction for the global franchise, establishing a leadership position in the emerging area of interventional ophthalmology, and building a best-in-class customer care process and team.
Mark Hayward, who has more than 23 years experience in sales in the healthcare industry, joins the iScience team having most recently come from Guidant Corporation with his position as Director of Sales, where he also served as a functional Vice President of Sales.

In his position as Vice President of Sales at iScience, Hayward will head up sales activities along with working with his team to continually develop sales strategies for an increase of sales in the U.S. and European Union.
