New VIKING garden shredder wins red dot design award

Having only recently been launched onto the market, the new GE 450 garden shredder from garden tool manufacturer VIKING, based in Langkampfen/Kufstein, has already been honoured with an award for its design. The worldwide coveted mark of quality, the red dot design award, was landed. A prize whose attractiveness is confirmed by a few figures: This year, over 1,600 companies from 57 countries have participated. Criteria for the international panel of design experts included the degree of innovation, functionality and ecological compatibility.

In addition to its prize-winning design features, the VIKING electric shredder is characterised by two separate feed openings. Whereas the large, straight chute swallows bulky soft material, the inclined, fold-out feed chute is used for branches and woody material.

VIKING Managing Director Nikolas Stihl commented: "Our philosophy is perfectly simple. Superior performance and an excellent appearance make for satisfied customers. For this reason, VIKING is the number 1 on the European specialist market."
