1 / Open APU Fire Ext 1 circuit breaker on P6 panel and attach ‘DO NOT CLOSE’ identifier.
2 / Open Fuel Pump Power and Control circuit breakers on P11 panel and attach ‘DO NOT CLOSE’ identifier.
3 / Open APU Fuel Valve and Left Fwd Fuel Boost Pump circuit breaker on P6 panel and attach ‘DO NOT CLOSE’ identifier.
4 / Verify that APU master control switch is in off position and attach ‘DO NOT OPERATE’ identifier.
5 / Open APU cont. (11B35) circuit breaker on P11 panel and attach ‘DO NOT CLOSE’ identifier.
6 / Open APU prime cont. circuit breaker on P49 - APU Auxiliary Panel and attach ‘DO NOT CLOSE’ identifier.
7 / Open APU Start circuit breaker on P49 - APU Auxiliary Panel and attach ‘DO NOT CLOSE’ identifier.
8 / Open APU access doors and engage door support rods.
9 / Remove the electrical connectors from the generator by removing the four phase leads and identifying for reinstallation.
10 / Unclamp APU harness, generator cables and starter motor cables from APU supports.
11 / Disconnect APU harness generator cables and starter motor cables at firewall.
NOTE: Starter motor cables can be disconnected at starter motor rather than at firewall.
12 / Disconnect bonding jumper by removing nuts and washers at fuselage.
13 / Disconnect generator control connector from generator.
14 / Remove clamps, flex ducts and discharge duct.
15 / Loosen clamp on air supply duct at left side of APU disengage clamp from flange.
16 / Loosen second clamp at firewall remove duct.
17 / Install dust caps on air supply and oil cooler discharge ducts.
18 / Install exhaust duct support saddle and tighten buckles.
19 / Disconnect exhaust duct by loosening V-band clamp and slide duct aft.
20 / Disconnect fuel line at fuel control unit and drain fuel. Cap fuel line and receptacle.
21 / Remove APU drains assembly IAW Inspection Instruction 49-01.01.
22 / Install hoist beam in plenum bracket and aircraft structure.
WARNING: To ensure safety to personnel and equipment, perform the following safety measures:-
a. Unwind and inspect cable prior to each use.
b. Check condition of keyhole slot area prior to installation of fishpole hoist. Damage keyhole slot area could result in failure to support APU.
c. Properly install hoists in keyhole slots to prevent hoist disengagement.
23 / Install hoists in left aft keyhole slot on plenum and keyhole slot on hoist beam. Check that hoists are properly seated in slots.
24 / Attach hoist cables to cradle, and then raise it into position under APU with cradle and bracket.
25 / WARNING Install ballast on the generator mounting pad if the generator has been removed. This will prevent APU from tipping and causing damage or injury when mounting bolts are removed. Ref MM 49-11-01.
26 / Tighten hoist cables only enough to remove load from mounts.
27 / Remove cone bolt nuts and washers from forward and aft mounts. Install cone bolt thread protectors.
NOTE: Use open end wrench on shaft flats between mount bracket and shockmount to provide a counter torque.
28 / Lower APU until mount brackets are clear of cone bolts.
29 / Swing right aft shockmounts outboard and install A49004-1 retainer on supports.
30 / Lower APU onto transportation dolly and disconnect hoists from cradle.
31 / Remove all used pink sheets (except current page) from tech log and forward to Technical Records.
