Social Work Image Award Nominations
Purpose
NASW-NYC is a membership association that effectively promotes the value and visibility of the social work profession. Through numerous program initiatives, the Chapter serves 9,200 social workers and remains actively committed to enhancing the professional development of its members, maintaining professional standards, and advancing sound social policies. Each year, through its “Social Work Image Award”, NASW-NYC seeks to identify and acknowledge the unique contributions of its members towards advancing the profession. The “Social Work Image Award” recognizes outstanding social work practice in many practice areas including but not limited to, administration, community organizing, clinical or direct practice. These awards will be presented at the Chapter’s Annual Meeting, which will be held this year on May 12, 2011. NASW-NYC invites you to join the Chapter leadership and members in nominating social workers who are making a difference in their agencies or communities, and to working with us to assure that the social work profession will be strong and vital, now and in the years ahead.
Selection Criteria
The nominated social worker should:
- Work in NYC
- Hold an MSW degree
- Demonstrate excellence in one or practice methods: administration, community organizing, direct practice
- Have made a significant and unique contribution or displayed a strong commitment to the field of social work, in any practice area or setting
- Exhibit advanced knowledge, skills and leadership in providing effective and quality social work service delivery
Requirements for Submission of Nomination
- Fill out the Social Work Image Nomination Form.
- Please include a statement of no more than 500 words describing what is outstanding about the nominee’s work, according to the selection criteria.
- It is recommended that you submit a copy of the candidate’s resume/CV.
- Submit all materials together to Ms. Launa Kliever, Associate Director, by email, fax, or mail.
Deadline
Nominations will be accepted until Friday, March 25, 2011. Late nominations will not be accepted.
