We have been involved providing solutions related to vehicle video surveillance, GPS information, and GPS tracking, and it seems that we are getting more business inquiries and prospects related to other vehicle products and services, such as advanced vehicle rearview mirror solutions, vehicle parking assistant solutions, vehicle control mechanisms such as keyless entry door locks, alarms, etc.
Currently we have a prospect client who has a large delivery trucks business and he has requested to us a rearview mirror parking/reversing solution. The type of vehicles he has, are single truck as shown bellow. The expected purchase quantity is 1000 units.
Once we get into these other type of vehicle products, we expect that we will get requests from different client prospects and for several different size of vehicles, so we will like to develop a business relationship with reliable, high quality and high production capacity manufacturers.
Generally, parking assistant solutions are either wired or wireless, and if wired the connecting cables length is big enough to cover the length of a car, and wireless solutions are normally designed for cars and not for trucks.
For truck solutions we will deal with two types of trucks, 1) single and 2) cabin separated trucks (truck tractor/semi-trailers, motor truck/semi-trailer and motor truck/trailer)
For single truck types we prefer a wired parking assistant solution, and if available we prefer with video camera and distance sensors. As an example of single truck type dimensions, please refer to the following diagram. To be safe, we shall consider 15 – 20 meters total length from mirror to back of single truck.
For larger trucks with separated cabin from the trailer, such as “truck tractor and semi-trailers” we are open about different solutions but my guess is that a wireless solution will work best. For wireless truck parking dimensions please use the following diagram as an example.
If available we will prefer a solution with video camera and distance sensors, so that the driver can not only know the distance of the obstacles, but also see the obstacle when backing up the truck. One possible solution could be the following:
