PERSONAL PROFILE

I am a lecturer at St. John’s Teachers Training College, Kilimambogo( currently on leave). I have worked as a part-time lecturer at The Catholic University of Eastern Africa (CUEA) in Nairobi, African Nazarene University, Multimedia University and Highlands State College. I hold a B.Ed (Kiswahili and Religious Studies) and M.A in Kiswahili Studies from Kenyatta University. I have worked in different panels in Kenya Institute for Curriculum Development ( KICD), Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC) and USAID -TUSOME as a language consultant , where I have contributed immensely in curriculum designing, implementation and assessment. I am an author and I write both academic and creative works that cut across different genres and audiences. I am also a registered PhD student in The University Of Nairobi; Department of linguistics.

Responsibilities

  • Lecturing- Swahili language course.
  • Administrative duties in the college including events coordination; Students admissions/registration, graduation ceremony, cultural week and games.
  • Lecturer in charge of the college library.
  • Training in academic workshops.
  • Training student teachers on safety measures - fire drills- including designing a training module.
  • Guidance and counseling responsibilities.
  • Setting, moderating and marking Swahili exams.
  • Supervising and assessing student teachers on teaching practice.
  • Training student-teachers for national drama and music festivals.
