David A. Voigt
Mr. Voigt has over forty-five years in the aircraft operations industry. His professional aviation career began in 1965 as a commissioned officer in the United States Air Force. Mr. Voigt retired from the Air Force in 1988, attaining the rank of colonel. As a command pilot with over 350 combat missions in Viet Nam, Mr. Voigt flew aircraft ranging from large transport aircraft, supersonic fighter type aircraft, and helicopters. He was a check pilot in numerous aircraft. He is a graduate of the Instrument Pilot’s Instructor School (IPIS) where he eventually became an Inspector General Operations and Flight Evaluator. He earned the Legion of Merit, Distinguished Flying Cross, and ten Air Medals. Colonel Voigt culminated his Air Force career as the Commander of Norton Air Force Base, California. In that capacity, he was responsible for the management, conduct, and mission accomplishment of over 13,000 military and civilian employees. He holds an FAA Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) Airman’s Certificate with a type rating in the Learjet series aircraft as well as Commercial Privileges in Rotorcraft-Helicopter including Instrument-Helicopter. Mr. Voigt has logged over5,500 hours of accident/incident-free flight time.
Subsequent to his retirement from the Air Force, Mr. Voigt formed AMDRPRO, Inc., d.b.a., American Dream Professionals. This company specializes in consulting services, including corporate management, real estate investments, and sales, both commercial and residential, and for aviation management, operations, and safety. Mr. Voigt is a licensed Real Estate Broker and maintains his office in Chino Hills, California.
Since 1996, Mr. Voigt, through AMDRPRO, Inc., has been conducting aviation operations-management and safety audits on corporate flight departments, charter operators, and scheduled air carriers throughout North and South America, Europe, Middle East and Asia. To date, he has completed over 250consulting assignments and audits as an independent contractor in this field with routine “by-name” requests for subsequent service. Mr. Voigt is certified as one of approximately 145 International Business Aviation Council’s IS-BAOAccredited Auditors. In January 2009, he completed IATA Operational Safety Audit (IOSA)training to become a certified International Air Transport Association (IATA) auditor. In April 2010 he became an ISO 9001 Lead Auditor. In addition to his consulting and auditing background, he served as a full-time Executive Vice President/Director of Operations for a multi-based and multi-typed aircraft on-demand charter operator.
Involved with civic and charitable activities, Mr. Voigt servedeleven years as a publicly elected Director on the Chino Valley Independent Fire District—he served eight years as their President/Vice-President. He also served as the first Chairman of the Public Works Commission for the City of Chino Hills. In addition, he has been or is currently a member of the National Eagle Scout*, Retired Officers'* Airlift* and Realtors® Associations, Sigma Pi Fraternity*, UCLA*, University of Northern Colorado* and National War College* Alumni Associations, UCSB Chancellor's Council, Mensa*, National Order of Daedalions*, Kiwanis, Lions (President and Zone Chairman), American Legion*, Disabled American Veterans*, Veterans of Foreign Wars*, YMCA, San Bernardino County Museum, San Bernardino Area and Redlands Chambers of Commerce, and advisor to numerous other civic committees. He served on the Executive Board for the Boy Scouts of America Old Baldy Council and received the prestigious Silver Beaver Award. Mr. Voigt's wife of 45+ years, Sheran, is a licensed Real Estate Broker. She is a Director of the California Association of Realtors®. She serves as Chairpersonand Hearing Officer in her fourth term on the San Bernardino County Assessment Appeals Board. She is a Governor’s appointed member on the California Architect’s Board. She has served asa club president and Lt-Governor of Kiwanis Clubs International. Their daughter Michelle is married with two daughters and a practicing attorney in Costa Mesa, California.
Mr. Voigt's formal education includes a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) and a Master of Arts degree in Communication, with emphasis on management and interpersonal communications from the University of Northern Colorado (UNC). He has professional degrees from NationalWarCollege, NationalDefenseUniversity and Air Command and StaffCollege. He has other post-graduate work at Chapman College, University of Southern California, and Belleville College specializing in areas of management and accounting. He has completed the National Business Aviation Association’s (NBAA’s) Professional Development Program (PDP) Objective of Developing Safety Programs within a Flight Department.
