A unique combined design course across two arenas. Class 1 - 1’9” to 2’ for true beginners is especially suitable for riding school clients. Riding School entry @ £30, advance only – Starts 10am.
EASTER DRESSAGE COMPETITION MONDAY 28th MARCH
Riding School test entry @ £25 – copies of the test available from the office @ 50p.
Please speak to your Instructor for advice with regard to competitions – you must be the right standard to enter.

D TEST PREPARATION DAY - WEDNESDAY 30 MARCH & D+ TEST PREPARATION DAY – MONDAY 4 APRIL
These days are highly recommended for any Pony Club member to get some last minute practice, hints & tips for test day this holiday. Also, for those hoping to take their tests later in the year, it is essential to get started on skill scanning to find your strengths and weaknesses. This will help your Instructor to plan towards test day.

Speak to your Instructor to find out if you are ready to take your test.
Please ensure you have the correct attire for test day – the office sells great value items available for sale if you need them.
Correct Test Attire
Riding hat – correctly fitted and to standard, long hair tied back - with hairnet preferred, white shirt & Pony Club tie, Pony Club sweatshirt, riding gloves, whip, beige jodhpurs (with jodhpur clips) and short boots. No make-up. No jewellery, including small studs – even the most discreet decorations are a Health & Safety hazard.
Clean & tidy! Your overall impression should be immaculate!

Knowledge about caring for a pony at grass starts right from the beginning of your Pony Club career. You will learn about fencing and gates; water supply; field shelters and potential hazards in the paddock. Check out the field facilities at Mount Mascal Stables & take a walk to Little Mascal Farm to find out how it all works in practice. With the Spring grass coming through it’s a great time to get this badge.

Learn how to set up a dressage arena and the order of the letters to get your Dressage Arena Badge.
Ride the Intro A Test – walk & trot only – in front of the Judge and receive a score sheet with full feedback - to discuss with your Instructor and help you improve. You can pick up the test from the office to practice in your lessons before test day if you wish. However, you will have a ‘reader’ on test day and you therefore do not need to memorise it.

BANDAGES & RUGS
MINI HORSE CLOTHING AVAILABLE

Experienced handlers make bandaging
& rugging up tasks look so easy! But they are NOT! They are achievable only if you are keen to practice! And very valuable handling skills can be gained along the way. Also, essential for members considering the Loading badge, Equine First Aid or working towards C test.But, with Mini Horse Clothing on offer too, there is something suitable for EVERY clubber to try & enjoy at this session.

BUILDING SHOWJUMPS
Learn to recognise various showjumps, build them safely and design a course. And, you will get great showjumping hints & tips along the way. This session is suitable if you have already taken part in practical jumping sessions.
You will be involved on this activity building the course for the Winter Showjumping Series 2015/16!

PONY CLUB D+ TEST
PREPARATION DAY
An essential activity for D+ Test candidates taking the test this holiday. Practice & theory – covering Silver levels & D+ syllabus - to help you prepare & understand what is needed on test day. Great preparation if you hope to take your test later this year too and a chance to get Silver certificates.You will enjoy time on the yard for stable management skills. Riding time will include D+ techniques with canter as well as jumping exercises, if you are confident & capable enough.

Speak to your instructor to find out if you are ready to take your test and speak to the office to make sure you know the correct Pony Club test attire. Items are available to purchase if you need them.
D TEST
The first formal test with an external examiner for Pony Club Centre members. You should have at least completed all your Bronze levels to be at the standard required for success.
D+ TEST
The test that comes between D & C levels. It is a big step up from D and the skills required to pass should not be underestimated. You should have at least completed all your Silver levels to be at the standard required.

INTERMEDIATE HACK & SNACKTIVITY
Confident Walk, Trot & Canter (Arena)
No Lead Rein-D+ Level upwards
A morning ride in beautiful woodland for the Clubber who is confident and capable in walk, trot & canter in the arena. A great activity to improve your skills beyond an enclosed space. More advanced exercises – such as riding in double file and changing order – if the Instructor thinks the ride is capable. You can bring a carrot to give your pony a healthy treat.Then enjoy your Clubroom snack & drink ‘on the house’ with an activity too!

Walk & Trot
A session for the ‘new to jumping’ Pony Clubber. If you are working in walk & trot confidently & independently in your regular lessons, you are ready to have-a-go! Start with the all-important basics – position & phases. Learn theory first.
Progress to ridden practice over poles on the ground to low level cross pole jumps if you are ready.

This session is for Clubbers who work very confidently on the flat in walk, trot & canter and have either completed beginner jumps during lessons or attended two or more beginner jump rallies.
The session will be ridden, starting with warm up on the flat, then progress to polework & grid style jumping exercises.
