May your holidays be happy days, filled with love and laughter.
And may each daybring joy your wayin the yearthat follows thereafter.
I extend to you greetings and best wishes for a Merry Christmas, and a Happy and Prosperous New Year from the Executive Committee of Grand Council, to our extended Mechanics family and your loved ones.
This is the time of year when our thoughts turn to giving and receiving gifts, and keeping in touch with family and friends who are a distant away from us. It is also a time of giving thanks for the many blessings we have received during this past year, for the challenges we have encountered and the struggles of daily life. A time to reflect on and remember those family and friends who have passed on to their just rewards, and thelessons we have understood that give meaning to our lives.
Our world events give us daily reminders of the need for Friendship, Truth and Love among all people, especially those in need who have been marginalized and find themselves outside the mainstream of society. Let us embrace them by granting them the love and support that they now crave at this time to move them forward, as we read fromDeuteronomy Chapter 15:11“For there will never cease to be poor in the land. Therefore I command you, you shall open wide your hand to your brother, to the needy and to the poor, in your land.”
My Brothers and Sisters let this Yuletide Season beone of atonement; the season to reflect on forgiveness, becomingmore compassionate, more giving and more loving to one another. Let the Joy of peace and tranquility permeateour minds as we celebrate the joyous occasion of the birth of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior, whose love is never ending.
“For unto us a Child is born, unto us a Son is given; and the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, and Prince of Peace.” Isaiah 9:6.
Let the experience of the “Spirit of Christ” transform us into better people for the upcoming year 2016, by making us more tolerant and charitable to one another,while promoting theprecepts of our Order as Mechanics,not only to our Brothers and Sisters but to all people.
We pray that the blessings of the Great Geometrician of the Universe be with you, your family and friends throughout this Christmas Season of celebration.
