General description
The MonoMouse-Win and ColorMouse-Win offers MD Mode which provides pure white text on a black background for maximum contrast and reduced glare for anyone with acute sensitivity to light. This can be beneficial for anyone with Macular Degeneration. Features include different colour modes and variable magnification.
Orientation
The Mouse has a halved pear shaped plastic body with a silver coloured top half and a black flat base. The flat surface has the video camera underneath set back in a square recess.The Mouse sits naturally in the palm of the hand with the combined camera video signal and cable going towards the Windows computer.
Please note: The blue section identified by the raised oval section in the centre towards the front of your mouse, is not a button; it is fixed in placed and has no function.
Getting started
Installing
The MonoMouse/ColorMouse for Windows comes with a USB that contains the software for your computer.
To install the software, insert the USB into a suitable port and follow the prompts that appear on the screen to install the software. This will only need to be downloaded once, unless the software is un-installed.
When the file has downloaded, drag the program file to your desktop. The icon looks like a blue “B”. You canpin this to your start menu if desired.
Now plug the USB connector on your Color/MonoMouse cable into any USB port.
Using the product
Click the blue B icon on your desktop andbegin moving the magnifier over the material that you wish to read. It will be displayedin the main window of your Windows PC.
On the screen will appear the following icons along the bottom (from left to right):
- Minus sign –decrease magnification
- Plus sign –increase magnification
- Black and white circle – mode button to change the colour mode
- Cross sign – expands the display to full screen
Press these buttons accordingly to zoom in, out or to change the mode of colour.
With the ColorMouse only, the available colour options in the mode setting are as follows:
- Full colour
- White on black
- Black on white
With the MonoMouse only, the available colour options in the mode setting are as follows:
- Full greyscale
- White on black
- Black on white
