Review of minutes from last meeting.

Self-Management Coursesarranged at the surgery for our patients.

Dates: Wednesday 13th January 2016 – Wednesday 17th February 2016.

10.30am – 1.00pm.

When trying to implement The Pharmacy first Minor Ailment Scheme we were informed that the surgery was not in a deprived area, so was unable to join the scheme. The implementation of the scheme within the surgery is still on going.

The sign for the surgery on the road is now in place.

The open Flu Clinic dates were a success with targets running the same as last year. Final figures still to come.

Appointment cards currently used for the surgery will be phased out and we will print our own cards to enable us to keep them updated with current information and trends.

The surgery refurbishment programme will start will new flooring on the ground floor in January 2016.

Meeting 1st December 2015:

Unfortunately Mary Pearce has resigned from the PPG due to other commitments. We would like to thank her for her support and participation

in the Group.

The new NHS Electronic Prescription Service, rolled out in our Surgery

On Monday 23rd November. One of the panel had experienced some teething problems that had been rectified without too many problems.

Overall the service should be very beneficial to our patients and majority

Of patients using the service are giving positive feedback.

The group will monitor the service and feed back to the surgery.

The Expert Patient Programme was again discussed. All PPG group are eligible for the programme and have all signed up.

We have 26 Patients on our list.

The group wish to get more involved with running the PPG. The surgery is going to allocate an information board for the PPG to correspond with the patients.

We will start the process of the group being more independent by having a Chair Person from the group.

We will start the nominations at the next meeting.

We have recently started a patient information folder in reception. David found it very informative, but stated that there was not much local information in the folder. The information in there is what is sent to the practice. The PPG is going to look for information and events more local to add to the folder.

A Surgery News Letter for Patients was discussed and the PPG are keen to help with the production of the newsletter.

A new check in system is being fitted within the next 2 weeks.

We may have some areas that need remedial decorating when the system is installed. As a refurbishment is programmed we do not see this as a major

issue.

Staff will be on hand to help patients get used to the system when installed.

The PPG praised the changes that have taken place within the Surgery this year and were very positive on the future progress.

PPG group commented that the new staff uniforms are very smart and reception is looking more pleasant with the added flower. It was discussed that little things do make a difference.

The group was informed of the scheduled CQC visit Tuesday 8th December 2015. Dr Read and Chris were Open and honest in the meeting regarding their opinions as to the position of the surgery and the expectations of the CQC.

The PPG group as a whole wanted to be part of the CQC visit. It was arranged that the group will be at the surgery on the day and available to participate.

Our next meeting will be an evening meeting.

The group are hoping that having some evening and some afternoon meetings will encourage new members.

We are trying to get a cross section of patients on the Panel.

Next Meeting: 25th JANUARY 2016 6.30pm
