Minutes of HBPB Swimming Board Meeting
15th July 2017 at 12.30pm
Present: Sue Hewitt, Keith Bone, Donna Blair, Mary Jean Staniford, Garon Buczynski, Lynda Allen, Roger Smith, Trudi Astwood
Apologies: None
Keith welcomed everyone to the meeting, especially new Board members Lynda Allen and Roger Smith. He provided a description of the role – particularly about being a Board member acting for the entire region, and also spoke about confidentiality and privacy issues. The role is to promote swimming, provide strong governance and work to the Boards KPI’s.

Election of Chairman
Trudi Astwood took the Chair and called for nominations for Chair.

Financial
Approve the payments to MJ Staniford - $70 for flowers and S Hewitt – $290 for Coaches lunch.

Sub-Committees
Coaches Committee
The coaches met for lunch on the 14th July in the break of the HBPB Winter Championships.
Keith attended and the meeting was positive. Discussion were had on such things as Camps (perhaps in Wairoa).
Board needs to have good feedback from Coaches Committee.
Points for clarification – Coaches Rep on Central Swimming, Coaches Rep on Coaches Committee for this year.

Technical
There has been a lot happening in Technical with improved pathways, technical templates.
Paul Evans is leading a group in Gisborne facilitating training. Keith Bone is facilitating training in HB, and accrediting all.
Agreed that HBPB pay 5 SNZ Technical Official fees per club. Garon/Roger
HBPB Rules ad Regulations
It was agreed to look at the HBPB Swimming Rules and Regulations at the next meeting regarding Relay scoring at Regional
Championships.
