2. Agree Minutes – Action points
Minutes from agreed as a true record.
Action Points from 05/12/07:
Action – Steve Simmonds to contact WCPPE, get copy of training pack and forward via email to forum members to check for completeness and add comments / information as required
Action for Steve Simmonds to be carried over for June as not completed to date
3. Job description and Person spec
Josie confirmed that funding had been secured (awaiting official confirmation by September) for a full time Needle Exchange Forum Manager post. The post holder would be responsible for the day to day management and progression of the forum including the website, working groups, online forum and conference. Josie requested comments regarding the requirements to be included in the job description and person spec. Discussion around the experience and background required for this post.
Action: Josie to draw up first draft of Job description and person spec for the post and circulate to all members for discussion and changes.
4. Website and location mapping (Web and Print)
Josie presented printed copies of maps to group for comments and amendments. Generally well received. Work on website slow due to lack to time but design time for 2008/09 had been secured and funded by NPHS.
Action - For all forum members Josie to send electronic versions of all areas and corresponding lists of services.
All members to check details contained within maps and confirm any changes by 20th June to Josie so final printing can be undertaken.
Josie to go back to location mapping with any changes and also change colour of circles.
On reverse of maps, josie to take views of service users on the wording, and make any changes necessary
5. Conference
Action – Josie and Erica to book City Hall, Cardiff for next year as a start – provisional date for next year’s conference – MONDAY 20th APRIL 2009
Discussion around location of next conference – members felt it was paramount that conference remained free of charge to all and this would be facilitated by not having to pay large amounts for hire of a venue. It was agreed that City Hall may well be best venue for next year.

Action – Members to contact Josie with views on conference and programme as outlined above
6. Data collection systems
Josie to draft final summary report of findings from data collection pilot and distribute to members along with a copy of the data collection form, before presenting report to WAG in July.
7. Any other business
Training on practical safe injecting. Discussion around potential for development of rolling programme of very practical safe injecting training days across Wales. Issues highlighted included need to accredited DANOS and TRAINING THE TRAINER courses for all those wanting to run regular one day courses in areas across Wales.
Action – Josie to continue discussion with NPHS and training providers re. funding and other requirements and to feed back to group. Sub-group with particular interest in developing this currently includes Peter Lowe and Lorna Eastment
Additional members – Lorna suggested that a representative from Powys would be beneficial to providing perspective from this area.
Action – Lorna to enquire re. interested parties from this area and contact Josie to invite.
Future Meetings:
Agreed that current arrangement of 3 forum meetings, an annual conference and teleconferences as required is to continue.
