MINUTES OF THE RONGOTEA COMMUNITY COMMITTEE HELD IN

THE COMMUNITY CENTREON THE 2nd February 2015

MATTERS ARISING:

MRC (mobile recycling centre) Working well.

Seat at the BMX track: This was put on the action list in May. (no transaction number). Could we please have an update.

BMX Track:This was put on the action list in August (no transaction number) The condition of this area is not good. Spaying has been requested. It was understood the water contractors would make good any damage they caused. This has not happened.

Mt Stewart: Transaction 18575. Will this be completed by Anzac day 2015?

Traffic speed/ calmers. Transaction 21127. Could the attached map (with suggested placement of traffic calmers) please be sent to the roading manager.

INWARD CORRESPOUTWARD CORRESP: Nil

GENERAL BUSINESS:

Taikorea Memorial: It is hoped repairs to this will be completed by Anzac day.

Anzac Day:The RCC have offered their help with celebrations to the local RSA. No reply as yet.

White crosses:33 are needed for Rongotea and Taikorea.

Water contract:houses have been changing hands in the village & it seems new residents may not be aware of the water scheme. Would it possible for these residents to be offered the opportunity to take up the earlier offer.

Blossom Trees:If the cherry trees need pruning could residents please contact MDC or a member of the local committee.

Xmas Lighting: (new frames) L. Berry has this in hand.

Drains: Empty bags with unknown residue have been found in the drains. R. Brannigan (Horizons) has taken samples for testing.

Manholes: (2) Outside W. Amey & Co (Thames St) and on the corner of Thames St& Tamar St. The road surface of these needs repair.

Submission for LTP:It was suggested that mowing road edges be considered.

Public Meeting for LTP:to be held at the Te Kawau Recreation Centre, 15th April 2015

Playground: Transaction 22224. The action list states this will be done in time for summer. This has not happened. Bark is urgently needed to cover exposed piping.
