The Chairman opened the meeting and welcomed members

and visitors. Members stood for the shipmate’s prayer and a period of silence was observed for those who had fallen since our last meeting.

The Chairman asked if everyone has read the minutes, if there were any comments or amendments. He asked that they be accepted this was

proposed by Robin Hargrave and seconded by Terry Watson. There was no matters arising they were accepted unanimously.

Chairman’s report; Paul did not have much to report but did say the menu del dia at restaurant Tutu was most enjoyable and was looking forward to our next one.

Vice Chairman’s report: Notes for the diary.

23rd April R B L St George’s day Emerald Isle 1200 hrs

27th may R B L Playa Flamenca charity day 1200 hrs

30th June R B L Armed Forces day Orihuela cathedral 1700 hrs hopefully coaches will be provided

11th November Armistice day MIL Palmeras 1045hrs

We had a menu del dia at restaurant TUTU on the 21st February, organised by Joe and Rose very enjoyable.

Our next one is on the 20th march at Rendezvous restaurant Torrevieja, 1300 for 1330. 13 euros a head , order on the day. There will be a raffle, if directions are required see me. The list will close one week before the date stated , so if you wish to go put your names on the list please.

Any change in personal details please keep me informed.

Secretary’s report: Data protection Act. I have been informed from H Q that new regulations commence on May 1st 2018. As branch secretary I am responsible for Data protection. We are fortunate in having among his many hats Danny as Membership secretary.

When giving your name & addresses it is also giving permission to store it and share it, this is implicit in being a member of your branch. This will not be shared with another branch or organisation without express permission.

Any Other Business: Paul explained Trafalgar night this year falls on a Sunday. Some hotels have reduced staff on a Sunday and also some people with religious beliefs may feel uncomfortable with this. He said it was also hoped to have a menu Del dia at Dona Isobel in April details when known
