Minutes Bingham PTSA Board Meeting September 2, 2014
Those Present: Pres. Sheri Mattle, Pres. Elect Debbie Kroll, Sec. Amy Janisch, Treas. Connie Chamberlain and board members Chantal Brown, Kristen Pehrson, Dalesse Bowles, Christy Lane, Heidi Olsen, Cyndi Thomson, Jill Wright, Aimee Wahlstrom, Tom Gatten, and Principal Christen Richards-Khong

Minutes reviewed/approved for August: Kristen Pehrson motioned, Dalesse Bowles seconded.
Reviewed Budget: Connie Chamberlain updated the proposed budget to add $600.00 for Battle of the Bands – Sheri Mattle moved to amend budget & board approved unanimously with 13 members.
Administration: Principal Christen Richards-Khong stated the sophomore registration went great and the dunking machine & prizes for drawing supplied by the PTSA was a hit. She also noted that the PTSA missed the last administration meeting. She will send Sheri Mattle an email with the date of next meeting so PTSA/Student Board can attend. Tom Gatten stated the Bingham Student Body Officers advisor is Elizabeth Smith if the PTSA needed help from them.
Region/Council PTSA: Secondary council meeting @ Bingham High School Sept. 25 – 11:45 am in Media Center.
Legislative Issues: Sheri Mattle talked about Sage testing meetings she attended. She suggested to visit the Utah office of Education website to get more detailed info.
Membership: Chantal Brown received list from office for those members that had signed up during registration online. She asked for suggestions on how to distribute the membership cards to students. Donuts and candy during lunch or in the mornings. She asked for volunteers to help once she has made a decision/schedule. Also, all board members need to be members of PTSA so if anyone hasn’t paid for membership please do by next meeting.
Hospitality: Christy Lane and Heidi Olsen will be handling the lunch for the Secondary council meeting on Sept 25 @ Bingham -setup at 11:30 am. Christy Lane asked for total number of teachers/ staff for lunches on Parent Teacher Conf. Oct. 8th – Tom Gatten will get that info for her. Debbie Kroll suggested using PopOver Café. They will need volunteers for this – will ask at next meeting.
Reflections: All entries due Oct. 1st -Dalesse Bowles has made posters for classrooms/halls. She is offering early turn in on Sept. 29-30thto give help/suggestions to students. Dalesse was asking for volunteers to help during early turn in and to help with the reward luncheon.
Student Board: Cyndi Thomson stated they have 24 students and will have their first meeting in the next few weeks. She & Darci Crossley will have tables set up during Club Rush this week Sept. 4-5 during lunch for service club signup. They will be hosting a party for foreign exchange kids. Cyndi and Darci will decide on a week for Red Ribbon during Oct.
White Ribbon Week: March 9-13, 2015 – Kristen Pehrson will make arrangements with Fight the New Drug for the assembly that week.
Grad Night: Jill Wright stated she has a committee of 4 and could use 3 more members. Sheri Mattle asked if one of the committee could attend the Secondary council meeting to talk about what makes Bingham’s Grad night such a success.
