JOB TITLE:PAYROLL MANAGER

DEPARTMENT:FINANCE/PERSONNEL

REPORTS TO:SUPERINTENDENT

FOR EVALUATION PURPOSES: 4- Consistently 3- Frequently 2- Occasionally 1- Seldom

Reconcile benefits related issues for employees (customer service issues)

Maintain certified and classified personnel files

Maintain a database for staff, new employees, substitutes and newsletter mailing list

Process employment forms for new employees including substitutes

Complete local, state and federal reports as assigned in a timely manner

Prepare letters of non-renewal, assurance and reduction of salary as directed

Coordinate completion of Professional Staff Data reports

Coordinate compilation and completion of intent forms

Coordinate Cafeteria Plan including open enrollment and routine management with agent of record

Coordinate Health Insurance program including open enrollment, routine management, payroll reconciliation and COBRA notification

Coordinate Flexible Spending accounts with third party administrators

Process life insurance policies for employeesand reconcile with payroll office

Assumes responsibility of insurance records and insurance accounting.

Prepares monthly and/or quarterly and annual reports of payroll records for City Tax, County Tax, Federal Tax, State Tax, Social Security, Kentucky Retirement, KEA, insurance, etc.

Prepares quarterly unemployment reports

Coordinate Kentucky Teacher Retirement System annual employee counseling sessions

Process workers compensation claims with vendor

Process and track Family & Medical Leave program

Coordinate Sick Leave Donation program

Maintain current contracts on employees

Coordinates classified / certified contracts

Maintains Extended Employment calendars/records

Keeps the Superintendent informed of matters of concern

Completes any other duties as assigned by the Superintendent

Complete all required training and attend professional development sessions

Performs assigned tasks in a timely manner

Consistently displays self-control with parents, students and school personnel

Maintains a clean workstation (desk, office, etc.) and does maintenance as needed

Be clean, neat and appropriately dressed

Be consistently responsible and display an attitude of honesty and credibility

Show enthusiasm, interest and concern for the total program and its efficient operation

Operate equipment in a safe manner at all times

Demonstrate positive behavior toward the purposes and goals of the Metcalfe County Public Schools

Maintain regular and punctual attendance
