-and make county chapters aware of new NYSAFP members in there are.

o  Where are we today and where are we going? Will it be moot next year? Tailor to needs of the moment.

o  Representatives, AAFP Kevin Burke, Legislature, Mike McMann, Democrat (ML to ask) Staten Island Brooklyn, Gillibrand, Always an AAFP representative is present, speaker form business community (ex: Chamber of Commerce)

o  Monies available? How do we get it? Compliance?

o  Planning for COD/Town Hall Discussion

o  Membership for Sophie B. Davis Students – decision by national

Accepted as Medical Students trial project; accepted as members

*reviewed question of how medical students would be payed for in this trial project as normally state pays for students but if they are enrolled in bulk as a full class regardless of interest may be significant dues expense for NYSAFP

How to ‘staff’ the process of monitoring

Budget? Some, but quotes are far in excess

*various proposals all quite expensive, will consider staying with same vendor with proposed updates/overhaul, feels he needs more direction of what and where

-webinar requested to make specific recommendations and changes at time of discussion as vendor has failed to live up to requests/expectations in the past

o  Mission Statement

New statement approved at summer board meeting

*need to get new mission statement to website

-“The NYSAFP strives to improve the health of patients, families and communities by serving members of the Academy through education and advocacy.”

·  NEW BUSINESS

*Vito provided an update on uninterrupted round of meetings re: flu epidemics; supply and distribution, Sending a lot of advisories, Moving target

-Google flu trends; step ahead of CDC statistics

*Joe expressed commission interest in what membership benefits/support can the academy be getting, still have relationship with Enterprise would like to expand support – particularly for website given costs for updates

*Reviewed plans for Regional Family Medicine conference and Board / (Commission?) meetings to be in conjunction next year

*Phil Kaplan: outstanding job to be available for meetings, also interested in providing flu updates, can we create this section on the site
