ASCE YMF General Body Meeting – MINUTES
Meeting 1: September 12, 2017; Local Brewhouse

- Call to Order – 6:00-6:10
- Introductions
- Motion: Suspend the use of Robert’s Rules of Order for the 2017-2018 year except for matters concerning the bylaws or other governing documents
- Motion: Greg Holbrook, 2nd: Matt Gilfillan, All in Favor.

- President’s Report – 6:10-6:40
- Long-Term Strategic Goals, 2015-2018 have been amended and on section website
- Increase Active Membership to 65 members (means you attend more than two events in year)
- Visit all colleges with active student chapter twice a year
- Add a technical component to General Body Meetings
- Talk to Edward about working on these
- Support a year-long recurring outreach program in a local school through committed volunteers
- Late Spring/Summer Recap – be sure to check out pictures on facebook :)
- CANstruction
- Was held in May & partnered with Carpenter’s union_Built The Giving Tree
- Raised more than 2,000 Cans for Brashear Association!
- Received the Judge’s Favorite Award
- Wexford/Cranberry Happy Hour:
- 10 Attendees

- Edward & Max attended 2017 Younger Member Leadership Symposium
- Was held August 4-6, 2017 in Reston, VA

- New ideas for Competition? Looking to team with other organizations for networking

- Higher Achievement: Middle School student after school Mentorship program (see handout)
- ACE Mentoring: Karen Mueser contacts for ACE. Need volunteers for hosting two of the sessions. Kick-off meeting tonight, but still can contact Karen and help out through year
- Future City competition. Need judges day of in January and essay & SimCity PowerPoint judges
- Promote need for judging online as well
- YMCA Camp Kon-O-Kwee Volunteer ?
- Adam in contact with KOK, will decide over winter activity
