FORMATThis will be a Pentathlon format meet. A listing of events is attached. Swimmers are not required to swim all events, but if they do not they are not eligible for overall pentathlon awards. The following groups will swim together but will be separated out by age group for individual event awards: 6 & Under and 8 & Under, 13-14 and 15 & Over.

Warm- Ups: 7:45am-8:45am
Meet Start: 9:00am
Saturday P.M.Age Group: 9-10, 11-12
Warm-Ups: Not before 12:30pm
Meet Start: One hour after the start of warm-ups
LOCATIONBob Freesen YMCA, 1000 Sherwood Lane, Jacksonville, IL
FACILITY25 yard, six lane pool with Kiefer Exceptional Evolution starting blocks at one end. The start end is 9 feet deep, the turn end is 3’6’’ deep with Kiefer Wave Eater II lane lines and a Colorado timing/scoring system with a six lane read out board.
The competition course has not been certified in accordance with 104.2.2C(4).
RULES &SAFETY
This meet will be conducted in accordance with USA Swimming Technical Rules, National YMCA rules governing swimming competition, Illinois Area YMCA Competitive Swimming Rules and Illini District YMCA Rules.
Use of audio or visual recording devices, including cell phones, is not permitted in changing areas, rest rooms, or locker rooms.
Except where the venue facilities require otherwise, changing into or out of swimsuits other than in the locker rooms or other designated areas is prohibited.
ELIGIBILITYOpen to all swimmers who are YMCA Members. Swimmers age the day of the meet will determine their age group for the meet.
ENTRY FEESThere are no entry fees for this meet. Instead we will be charging a $15.00 facility surcharge per swimmer.
ENTRY DEADLINE
Friday October 20, 2017 is the last date the entry chair will accept entries or until the meet is full. Entries will be accepted until the time limit, subject to the 4 hour/10 hour rule is reached and any entries received after that time will be notified immediately.
ENTRY PROCEDURE
All entries are to be submitted through email via Hy-Tek format. Team entry lists and an invoice will be emailed to the entry contact person within 24 hours of receipt. Please email all entries to
DISQUALIFICATIONS
Any swimmer that receives a disqualification on an individual stroke will receive their completed time for that stroke plus a two-minute time penalty. This applies to each disqualification during the entire meet.
NO SHOWS/SCRATCHES
Any swimmer that scratches or is a no show to an event will receive a 5:00 penalty for the event.
OFFICALS/TIMERS
Officials are needed to help run this meet, please contact the meet referee.
All teams will be required to provide timers, a list will be sent out prior to the meet with assignments.
RESULTSResults will be posted upstairs and also emailed to coaches.
AWARDSAwards will be given up to 8th place for individual events in the following age groups: 6 & Under, 8 & Under, 9-10, 11-12, 13-14, 15 & Over. Overall Pentathlon medals will be given to the top 3 swimmers in each of the age groups and 4th-8th overall pentathlon winners will receive rosette ribbons. No awards for relays will be given. ALL AWARDS WILL BE MAILED.
ADMISSION & HEAT SHEETS
NO ADMISSION WILL BE CHARGED. Heat sheets will be available for $3.00
CONCESSIONS
Food and beverages will be available for sale downstairs.
SWIMMER/PARENT CRASH AREA
The gym will be set up for swimmers and parents to crash between events.
