1.5   QUALITY ASSURANCE

A.   Manufacturer Qualifications: Equipment shall be manufactured in a facility which is registered with ISO 9001 quality system, ISO 14001 for environmental management and OHSAS 18001 occupational health and safety standards.

1.6   DELIVERY, STORAGE, AND HANDLING

A.   Store products in manufacturer's unopened packaging until ready for installation.

1.7   PROJECT CONDITIONS

A.   Maintain environmental conditions (temperature, humidity, and ventilation) within limits recommended by manufacturer for optimum results. Do not install products under environmental conditions outside manufacturer's recommended limits.

1.8   SEQUENCING AND SCHEDULING

A.   Pre-Installation Conference: Convene conference prior to start of work, and at Contractor's direction to review installation procedures and to establish procedures to maintain optimum working conditions and to coordinate this work with related and adjacent work.

1.   Coordinate with mechanical and electrical trades for location, size and type of service required.

1.9   WARRANTY

A.   Manufacturers Standard Warranty: One year for parts and labor.

2.2   MEDICAL INSTRUMENT WASHER DISINFECTORS

A.   Under-the-Counter Type Medical Instrument Washer-Disinfector PG 8582.

1.   Intended Use: Together with the use of the proper accessories and baskets, the PG 8582 washer-disinfector provides an automated process for the cleaning and thermal, intermediate-level disinfection of re-usable medical instruments prior to sterilization. The PG 8582 washer-disinfector has been designed for installation in hospitals, surgery centers and clinics for operation in the following fields of application: General Surgical Instruments (for re-usable, hard-surfaced surgical instruments such as scissors or forceps and stainless steel lumened instruments. These can be processed after connecting Miele injection ports according to the loading instructions provided with the specific Miele accessory); Minimally Invasive Surgical (MIS) Instruments (rigid endoscopes such as dismantable shaft instruments, trocar, verres cannualae, rigid optics; Containers and Utensils (such as kidney dishes, sterilization containers, trays); Microsurgical Instruments (such as instruments used in eye surgery); Veterinary. Incorrect use: Do not use the Miele washer-disinfector as a machine for reprocessing of flexible endoscopes of any kind; instruments of a robot assistance surgery, instruments for single use only.

2.   System Description: Passive chamber drying in a 23.6 inch (600 mm) wide space, six automatic wash programs, two utility programs, and space for two custom wash programs. Capable of providing heated DI water rinse cycles, acid neutralizer dispensing and rinse aid dispensing. System includes a built-in water softener. Accepts baskets and optional inserts designed to hold surgical instruments, including baskets for narrow lumen instruments.

6.   Plumbing connections:

a.   Hot water connection: One 5 foot 7 inch (1,700 mm) long inlet hose provided for connection to 3/4 inch male garden hose thread. Recommended flow pressure >= 29 psi (200 kPa), minimum pressure with extended water intake 5.8 psi (40 kPa), maximum pressure 145 psi (1,000 kPa), throughput 2 gal/min (7.5l/min). Maximum incoming water temperature 150 degree F (65 degree C).

b.   Cold water connection: Two 5 foot 7 inch (1,700 mm) long inlet hoses provided for connection to 3/4 inch male garden hose thread. Recommended flow pressure >= 29 psi (200 kPa), minimum pressure with extended water intake 14.5 psi (100 kPA), maximum pressure 145 psi (1,000 kPa), throughput 2 gal/min (7.5l/min). Maximum incoming water temperature 68 degree F (20 degree C). Two cold water connections required. One connection is for wash, second connection for steam condenser. Use supplied Y-adapter if only one cold water connection is available.

c.   DI water connection: One 5 foot 7 inch (1,700 mm) long inlet pressure hose provided for connection to 3/4 inch male garden hose thread; DI water connection for a pressurized system with 4.4 - 145 psi (30 - 1,000 kPa) gage pressure: recommended flow pressure >= 29 psi (200 kPa), minimum flow pressure with extended water intake 4.4 psi (30 kPa); throughput 2 gal/min (7.5l/min); DI water connection for a non-pressurized system with < 4.4 psi (30 kPa) gage pressure requires the installation of an external booster pump, which can be requested through Miele Service, installation of the pump must be carried out by Miele Service.

d.   Drain connection: One 7/8 inch (22 mm) OD flexible drain hose, 4 foot 6 inch (1,400 mm) long is provided with washer for connection to a separate standpipe, maximum drain height is 3 foot 3 inch (1,000 mm), flow rate is 4.2 gal/min (16 l/min).

7.   Construction:

a.   Exterior cabinet: Constructed of type 304 stainless steel, lid included, space frame construction allows easy removal of side and top panel for service and recycling at end of machine life, double-skinned design, insulated door for excellent soundproofing.

b.   Interior: Chamber walls, ceiling and door are constructed of type 304 stainless steel. Chamber floor is constructed of type 316 L stainless steel.

c.   Net weight: 163 lbs (74 kg).

8.   Operation:

a.   Control: TouchControl with 3 row display showing program name, actual/target temperature and remaining program time.

b.   Programs:

1)   Vario TD Inst 4 Trays (compliant with EN ISO 15883, for processing instruments without hollow sections / lumen in mobile units for 4 mesh trays).

2)   Vario TD Inst 6 Trays (compliant with EN ISO 15883, for processing instruments without hollow sections / lumen in mobile unit / basket combinations for 6 mesh trays).

3)   Vario TD MIS (compliant with EN ISO 15883, for processing of MIS instruments).

4)   Ophthalmic (compliant with EN ISO 15883, for processing of ophthalmic items).

5)   Ward and Utensils (compliant with EN ISO 15883, for processing of ward end utensils e.g. kidney dishes, bowls etc.).

9.   Design:

a.   Pump: Variable-speed brushless pump with integrated heater elements, up to 3,400 rpm, Qmax 132 gal/min (500 l/min).

b.   Water softener: Built-in adjustable water hardness control, with automatic reactivation program.

c.   Liquid detergent dispensing: one internal pump for liquid dispensing using a siphon.

d.   Neutralizer dispensing: one internal pump for liquid dispensing using a siphon.

e.   Additional liquid dispensing: If required one additional external dispensing module (DOS module) can be added by Miele Service for liquid process chemicals.

f.   Salt container: located in door, for up to 4 lbs (2 kg) of reactivation salt.

g.   Water-Proof System: Incoming hot, cold and DI water lines are double wall with electronically activated solenoids. Includes float sensor in washer drip pan. In event of leak float switch is tripped which shuts of incoming water and activates drain pump.

h.   Test port: Access port for monitoring of wash temperatures for process validation.

i.   Flow meter: water intakes include flow meters to measure water fill level. Allows for adjustable water levels. System includes back-up float switch to protect against over-fill.

j.   Filter: 4-fold filter system with large surface filter, coarse filter, glass breakage filter and micro-fine filter,

k.   Wash chamber: laser-welded, crevice-free chamber made out of high-grade stainless steel, rear docking, no exposed heating elements, up to three levels of cleaning.

l.   Spray arms: upper and lower spray arm with knife edge jet pattern, optional basket with third spray arm available.

m.   Cool-down phase: After the final rinse steam is extracted from the cavity, passed through the steam condenser and condensed.

n.   Drying System: EcoDry - automatic door opening at the end of the program to assist drying.
