Power over Ethernet
igus, Cologne, offers with 950 cables a multitude of cables for most different requirements. From a robot cable from stock up to a ready-made fibre optic cable with more than 50 million tested double strokes – all cables are designed for the use in moving energy chain systems. For the Hannover Fair 2012 igus presented a multitude of cable innovations.
Measuring system cables: assembled 30 % faster
The measuring system cables of the series CF211 and CF111.D were optimised. An improved twisting and shielding design provides longer lifetime and cables can be assembled 30% faster. For the use in the analogue and digital measuring system technology, such as for example Drive Cliq systems, igus offers now three mechanic quality levels (CF211.028, CF111.028.D and CF113.028.D).
The series CF211 with PVC outer jacket is suitable for the use at temperatures of -5° up to +70° C in storage and retrieval systems, processing tools and packing machines as well as for wood and stone working. The series CF111.D with a halogen-free, flame-resistant PUR outer jacket is specially designed for short travels in the field of mechanical engineering. The high-end product CF113.D with PUR inner jacket and an extremely bending resistant braiding of tinned copper wires with an optical covering of 90% is ideal for the use in fast handling, clean room and low temperature applications. Overall more than 80 cables belong to the “chainflex” family of the measuring systems cables – all of them are available as materials sold by the meter in the desired length within 24 hours. All cables types can be ordered ready-made.
2 in 1: Data and 300V power in one cable
To pay due attention to growing requirements for efficient production processes, Ethernet/CAT5/GigE-bus cables have been optimised with 300V UL approval. With it there are no more obstacles for a power supply via “Power over Ethernet”. In combination with the bending radius, reduced about 20% to 10 x d only, space saving installations are possible. This is particularly required for camera installations because increasing miniaturization results in shrinking installation spaces.
The CFBUS Ethernet family disposes of specially developed and tested product features for the use in energy chains: low adhesion with an especially abrasion resistant and highly flexible TPE outer jacket. In addition to that there is an almost unlimited oil resistance that also applies to bio oils.
The bus elements braided with a particularly short strand pitch are protected by means of a gusset-filling, extruded TPE inner jacket. The bus parameters required are fulfilled by means of a choice of coordinated insulating materials and production procedures. The inner jacket mechanically unloads the bus pair and fixes the wires in a defined position. Due to the optimized short pitch lengths of the wires, the cable can also be used for high cycle numbers in low bending radii of only 10 x d. “chainflex” Ethernet cables can be used in storage and retrieval units, processing and machine tools, rapid handling and low temperature applications, vision technology, communication and industrial Ethernet.
