Goal Statement: To increase concrete’s share of parking lots from 4% to 15% by year 2010.

Objectives:

  1. Educate owners, specifiers, contractors, and the general public about the benefits of concrete parking lots.
  2. Identify, develop, and support a qualified contractor base that will install concrete parking lots.
  3. Support KRMCA members, designers, and specifiers with all industry resources and design assistance.
  4. Develop and implement an incentive plan for KRMCA members who convert parking lots to concrete.
  5. Develop a plan where members can confidentially report all parking lots in Kentucky.

Objective 1: Educate owners, specifiers, contractors, and public officials about the benefits of concrete parking lots.

Strategies

1.1  Target the design community in Kentucky.

1.2  Target green-minded building owners and designers.

1.3  Target construction that is challenged by stormwater run off.

1.4  Educate designers and public officials about upfront and long-range advantages of concrete parking lots.

1.5  Start a green concrete award program of designers.
