Math Counts Club Permission Slip

Dear Parents/Guardians,

Your child has expressed an interest in joining the Math Counts Club. The Math Counts Club prepares students to compete for a place on the team that will participate at the Math Counts Competition in February. This team of Linglestown students will then compete against teams from other middle schools for the chance to compete at the state level. Students will be challenged with thought-provoking, non-routine and fun problems that will engage the students and enhance their problem solving skills.

Practices will be held after school at LMS on Thursdays, starting October 3, 2013. The advisors for the club are Miss Koontz and Mrs. Wood and we will be rotating the practices between our two rooms. Students will stay to practice from 2:40 pm to 4:00 pm. At 4:00 pm, students who are car riders may be picked up at the front of the building or students can wait to ride the late bus home. Students who stay for the late bus may work on homework or play with math games and puzzles until the buses come between 4:45pm - 5:00pm.

First Practice: Thursday, October 3 at 2:40 pm in Room 214 (Koontz)
