  1. Introduction:

Before initiating project as skill based programme for rural beneficiaries a thorough market scan is a major requirement. A market scan means identification of job opportunities available in the particular area so that trainees can be placed at a better position after completing their skill based training programme.

  1. Criteria for selection of working area:

The area which is identified for selection is

A)It should be highly tribal dominated.

B)It should have high migration percentage.

C)It should have industrial area near by.

D)The people in the selected area should be needy and in requirement of employment.

  1. Methodology adapted:-

The methodology adapted for market scan is as follows:-

a)Surveys:-

A thorough survey of selected area was performed by experts of selected area who then prepared a report of their analysis regarding requirement of human resource , trades available in the selected area.

b)Interviews :

Interviews are taken from the local people of the selected area about migration percentage, industries and companies near by , percentage of dropouts , facilities available in a particular company.

c)Questionnaires & Observation:

A format for questionnaire was prepared and it was performed on rural beneficiaries

Regarding what type of job they want, which trade they want to work in etc.

d)Through Secondary data:

Collection of secondary data proved to be a very useful stage with context to necessary information’s as turnover of companies, employees required in the company, brand image of the company etc. The secondary data was collected through internet, magazines & news papers.
