John A. Logan College Tuition Two Year Waiver

Scholarship

The Marion Chamber of Commerce Foundation awards scholarships based on the amount of money generated by the fundraising efforts from the previous year. The scholarships offered by the Marion Chamber of Commerce Foundation for this school year are: John A. Logan College Two Year Tuition Waiver and $1500 Grad Spree Scholarship.

Requirements

  1. The scholarship is to be awarded to an applicant who plans to continue their education in the field of business or commerce.
  2. Applicant must have a minimum GPA of 2.0.
  3. Each applicant is required to complete an Application Form and attach to the Application Form a brief statement pertaining to their longterm goals and the specific field of study in business or commerce they plan to pursue. Note: Incomplete applications will NOT be considered letters of recommendation will NOT be accepted or considered.
  4. For the John A. Logan tuition waiver the student must maintain a 2.0 grade point average while enrolled in college and must be enrolled and maintain a minimum of 12 credit hours per semester.
  5. For the Grad Spree scholarship the scholarship winner will make their own choice of college and must be enrolled in a minimum of 12 credit hours for the fall semester in order to receive the disbursement.
  6. All scholarship winners will be asked to attend the June monthly membership luncheon at noon on the second Tuesday at Kokopelli after they are awarded the scholarship to update our members on their accomplishments. While their attendance is not required, it is highly recommended.

Disbursement

Scholarship awards will be distributed in the following manner:

  • Grad Spree
  • Financial scholarship is given in one payment, which will be given when the recipient submits their fall 2018 college registration form to the Marion Chamber of commerce office at, 2305 W. Main Street, Marion, IL 62959. To ensure that payment can be issued promptly, please contact the Chamber office prior to arrival. Disbursement must be collected within nine (9) months of the award date.
  • John A. Logan 2 Year tuition waiver
  • The scholarship will be awarded when the recipient is successfully registered for classes at John A. Logan College. The scholarship is for 15 semester hours maximum for each of the Fall 2018, Spring 2019, Fall 2019 and Spring 2020 semesters.
  • Contact the executive director of the John A. Logan College foundation office, 618-985-2828, to receive credit for tuition.
