  3. Introduction of new NWLC President - Joe will send an email to Craig Dokken to introduce Jeff Sturm to the CPYHA board
  4. Individual Scholarships - Jessica Dressel brought scholarships up for discussion. The board has determined that we will allow $1200.00 per season. An additional 10 hours of volunteer time will be required by the families receiving scholarships.

Old Items:

  1. Inventory - Joe presented inventory numbers. At this point all inventory levels are ok. We talked about starting to rotate the jerseys after this year, possibly 30 per year will be replaced. The decision was made that each team will start with 50 lacrosse balls (game and practice). The coaches will be responsible for additional balls as the season progresses.
  2. Finance - MaryEllen talked about the current status of the checking and savings account. Checking account balance $7643.50, savings account balance roughly $3000.00. MaryEllen has contacted Wells Fargo to move our accounts. The idea was raised to have one checkbook per team to allow each team manager to be responsible for their team’s expenses. MaryEllen will continue speaking with Wells Fargo to ensure that this can happen. She will report on this at our next meeting.
  3. Job Descriptions – All job descriptions have been approved by the board. The board is still looking for a treasurer. The idea is to find a 3rd/4th grade parent, preferably someone with an accounting background.
  4. Registration - Summer In House Registration is 3/2/10 7:00 p.m. Champlin Ice Arena. On-line registration cut-off is 3/9/10. Joe Dahlman will contact Nick Powell at the Champlin Ice Arena to reserve the room for the In House Registration and the parent meeting.
  5. Spring U14 Premier Spring League email was sent out, as of 12/7/10 there are 21 kids interested. There is a need for a parent/coach to be present at each game along with coaches from the high school. Jeff Sturm and Dave Dressel will be parent/coach volunteers. Joe Dahlman will contact the high school coach (Eric Borer) for the high school coaches. Four high school coaches are needed to cover this position to make sure we always staffed. The fee for this will be $25 per person.
  6. Free Lacrosse Clinic - Julie Sturm and Jessica Dressel will contact Homegrown Lacrosse to talk about the free lacrosse clinic for new youth players. Once dates and Homegrown staff have been identified, Julie will contact Jessica Dressel to find out about using the gyms at CBPA.
  7. Registration Fee - Registration fees have been set at $300.00 per person, which will include shirt, shorts, one tournament and 2 Swarm tickets. Jeff Sturm will contact Brock at Harrow to confirm clothing package and a possible helmet decal. Jessica will contact Fast Track for another quote on decals. The cost must be $5.00 or less. Jessica will contact the Swarm to confirm when they are sending the tickets for the Sunday March 27th game.
  8. On-Line Registration - On-line registration is almost complete. Brenda Schmitt will complete the on-line registration form by 12/17/10; two different forms (box and summer) will be needed. The only on-line registration for 2011 will be for summer. MaryEllen will confirm Wells Fargo account by EOBD 12/17/10 so payments can be received on-line. Jeff Sturm will make sure that the US Lacrosse number field is a mandatory field. No registrations will be accepted with out a valid US Lacrosse number. The on-line registration will be available for viewing at the 1/4/2010 board meeting.
  9. Website Costs/On-line Store Costs - Website fee of $800.00 will be paid by the NWLC. The high school will be responsible to “work” off their portion of the website costs. The board has determined that we need 50 hours of service from the high school team members. These hours must be served at the NWLC tournament and the U14 premier league games and tournament. Joe Dahlman will talk to the high school coach about the service hours needed. The board talked about the on-line store costs and determined that the high school will bear the entire cost to add their items to the on-line store. Their cost will be $425. Jeff Sturm will contact Jackie Heytens (President of the booster club) to talk through the costs.
  10. Coaching - Joe Dahlman presented the current coaching staff status. All 2010 coaches will have the option to return for the 2011 season; all coaches need to confirm their desire to coach again by 1/31/11. Coaches can call or email Joe Dahlman to confirm. Strict coaching guidelines have been established for the season and must be adhered to for the entire season. He is also identifying other coaching alternatives. Joe will have committed coaching staff for summer season by 3/31/11. As an additional item, Joe Dahlman will look at coaching staff for box lacrosse.
  11. On-line Store - All on-line store items have been approved. See #8 for high school lacrosse on-line costs.
  12. Winter Training - NWLC will continue to support the Homegrown Lacrosse Training Program. Jessica Dressel brought up the Velocity Lacrosse Training Program in Champlin. The board is interested in this because Zach Greer is the leader of the training session. The cost will be $10 per session; class size is 10 kids per session. Jessica will contact Velocity to secure dates with Zach Greer. Jessica will copy Jeff Sturm to keep him informed.

Jessica Dressel moved to adjourn the meeting, MaryEllen Feldstein seconded the motion.

The next meeting will be held on 1/4/2011 at 7:00 p.m. at the Feldstein residence.
