Looking Back (An all about me project)

For this assignment you are going to research the day and year you were born. After collecting information, you are to create a Scratch project. How you want to present this information is up to you. This is truly all about you! You will be using costumes, backgrounds and broadcast.

Your name, date of birth and a recent picture of you must be visible initially.

Criteria:

  • Personal: Where you were born (hospital, city, state) Where you lived when you were born (house or city, state, country)
  • Personal Pictures: At least 2 pictures of you. 1 recent and 1 at an early age. Include pictures of where you were born and where you lived when you were born.
  • Music: The #1 song the day you were born and the #1 song of the year. If you want to include any information about the artist you can. Use short sound clips.
  • Film: The #1 movie of the year along with the actor and actress of the year.
  • Sports: Select 3 sports headlines that occurred. It can be national or local sports.
  • History/Headlines: Find 3 events that happened on the day you were born. It can be national or local news items.
  • Politics: Who were the President and Vice President?
  • Famous People: Find 3 famous people who share your birthday. They most likely will not be the same year.
  • TV Shows: Find 3 popular TV shows from the year you were born.
  • Pictures and sounds: Each of the topics must have at least 1 picture to accompany it. Songs must include an audio clip.

When you are done:

  1. Upload your project to Scratch and to the appropriate gallery.
  2. Open the Electronic notebook folder from the shared directory. Find the Looking Back file and answer the questions. Save to your folder. Print.
  3. Attach the grading rubric to your papers and pass everything in to be graded.
