Loeries Creative Future Finalists Announced
This year’s recipient of the Creative Future Scholarship will be announced during Loeries® Creative Week™ Cape Town. This Saturday, August 31, eleven talented youngsters from around the Western Cape will compete for an opportunity for a career in creativity. These final contenders for the scholarship have been selected from many applicants, and the final selection process involves a review of each student’s portfolio, a creative challenge and a challenging interview.
The Creative Future Scholarship gives students from disadvantaged backgrounds an opportunity to enter the brand communication industry through tertiary education. The recipient of this year’s scholarship will study at the AAA School of Advertising in Cape Town.The scholarship includesall tuition fees, accommodation, living expenses, study materials, mentorship and employment on completion of the programme.
“The Loeries Creative Future Scholarship represents an important investment for us,” says Andrew Human, CEO of the Loeries. “R30 from each Loeries entry goes toward the scholarship, so this is a chance for the industry to change the life of a talented young individual by employing them in creative economy. In this way, we are contributing to the transformation of the sector, and ensuring a rich source of talent and innovation for the future.”

Loeries® Creative Week™ Cape Town (14 – 22 September)
This aim of this year’s Loeries® Creative Week™ Cape Townis to create a village in the city, which means the focus of activities will move during the week from City Hall, to the V&A Waterfront, and then Long Street. One of the highlights is the International Seminar of Creativity which includes international jury chairmen and other speakers:

Loeries® Creative Week™ Cape Town culminates in two awards evenings at the Cape Town International Convention Centre on Saturday 21 and Sunday 22 September, followed by the Channel O Party at The Shimmy Beach Club at the V&A Waterfront.
