2011 MDX - - Passenger's Dashboard Trim Removal/Installation
Special Tools Required
- KTC Trim Tool Set SOJATP2014
*Available through the Acura Tool and Equipment Program, 888-424-6857
NOTE:
- Take care not to scratch the dashboard or the related parts.
- Use the appropriate tool from the KTC trim tool set to avoid damage when removing components.
- Open the front door, and remove the passenger's dashboard side cover (A).
- Pull out the front door opening seal (B), as needed.
- Gently pull out the front edge of the side cover, and pry the rear edge with a trim tool to release the hooks (C), then remove the side cover.
- Open the glove box.
- Remove the passenger's dashboard trim (A).
- Remove the screw.
- Gently pull out the lower edge and the outside edge of the trim by hand to detach all of the clips and the hooks (B).
- Install the trim in the reverse order of removal, and note these items:
- If the clips are damaged or stress-whitened, replace them with new ones.
- Position the hooks first on installation, then move the clips into place.
- Push the clips and the hooks into place securely.

2011 MDX - - Driver's Inner Dashboard Trim Removal/Installation

NOTE:
- Take care not to scratch the dashboard or the related parts.
- Use the appropriate tool from the KTC trim tool set to avoid damage when removing components.
- Remove the driver's inner dashboard trim (A).
- Gently pull out along the edge beside the audio unit by hand to release the lower hooks (B) and the clip (C).
- Detach the upper clips (D).
- Install the trim in the reverse order of removal, and note these items:
- If the clips are damaged or stress-whitened, replace them with new ones.
- Position the hooks first on installation, then move the clips into place.
- Push the clips and the hooks into place securely.

2011 MDX - - Navigation Display Unit Removal/Installation
NOTE:
- Put on gloves to protect your hands.
- Take care not to scratch the dashboard and related parts.
- Lay a shop towel under the parts when working on them to protect the face panel from scratches or other damage.
- When prying components, use the KTC trim tool or equivalent.
- Remove the dashboard center upper panel.
- Remove the screws (A) and bolt (B), then remove the display unit (C).
- Disconnect the navigation display unit connector (D), and detach the clip (E).
- Install the unit in the reverse order of removal. Be careful not to drop the forward bolt behind the dashboard.

2011 MDX - - Audio-Navigation Unit Removal/Installation
SRS components are located in this area. Review the SRS component locations, and the precautions and procedures before doing repairs or service.
NOTE:
- Put on gloves to protect your hands.
- Take care not to scratch the dashboard and related parts.
- Lay a workshop towel under the parts when working on them to protect the face panel from scratches or other damage.
- Eject all the discs before remove the audio-navigation unit to prevent damaging the CD player's load mechanism.
- If you are replacing the audio-navigation unit, write down the audio presets (if possible), and enter them into the new audio-navigation unit.
- Make sure you have the anti-theft codes for the audio-navigation unit.
- Remove the driver's inner dashboard trim, and the passenger's dashboard trim.
- Remove the console lower trim (A) and the bolts (B), then pull out the audio-navigation unit (C).
- Disconnect the connectors (D), then remove the audio-navigation unit.
- Remove the climate control unit.
- Remove the bolts (A) and the radio brackets (B).
- Remove the screws and audio-navigation unit (C) from the audio-navigation panel (D).
- Remove the interface dial.
- If you are replacing the audio-navigation unit, remove the HDD from the original audio-navigation unit, and install it in the replacement audio-navigation unit.
NOTE: To avoid damaging the audio-navigation unit or HDD:
- Do not remove the HDD with any of the audio-navigation unit connectors connected.
- Do not power up the audio-navigation unit without the HDD installed.
- Install the audio-navigation unit in the reverse order of removal.
NOTE: Check any official Honda service website for more service information about patches for the navigation system. Apply any prescribed patches to the new audio-navigation unit.
- Enter the new audio-navigation unit anti-theft codes.
- Park the vehicle outside, and do the GPS initialization.
- Give the new anti-theft codes to the client.

2011 MDX - - GPS Antenna Removal/Installation
NOTE:

- Lay a shop towel under the parts when working on them to protect the face panel from scratches or other damage.
- Remove the audio-navigation unit.
- Remove the navigation display unit.
- Remove the screws (A), and detach the clips (B), then remove the GPS antenna (C).
- Install the antenna in the reverse order of removal.
