DIVISION: President’s Office

LOCATION: All locations as needed

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Customer service focused; friendly and professional demeanor and willing to assist staff and students; good interpersonal skills are a must
  • Have a commitment to the role of mascot
  • Be available to work some days, nights and weekends
  • Possess a valid State-issued driver’s license with no traffic violations within the past six months, nor any pending violations

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform at special events and recruitment activities
  • Interact with attendees of events
  • Commit to appear at on-campus and off-campus events to promote college awareness and spirit
  • Distribute Coastal Pines Technical College promotional items
  • Assist in creating routines for promotional entertainment
  • Perform wacky promotional activities at events

Under supervision of Vice President for Institutional Advancement, work with public relations division with the purpose of raising awareness of Coastal Pines Technical College (CPTC).

KEY COMPETENCIES:

  • Ability to walk and stand for long periods of time
  • Ability to wear a costume and move, cheer and dance.
  • Ability to walk, jump, stand, bend, squat and lift up to 10 pounds the following percentage of time:

Walking/Jumping 40% Standing 40% Sitting 5% Lifting 5% Squatting/bending 10%

Notes:

  • Physical requirements to fit costume is required. Applicant must be in good physical condition.
  • The mascot does not have a speaking role; therefore, operator must not speak while wearing the costume.

GROUNDS FOR TERMINATION:

  • Not showing up during scheduled time to work without giving notice or reason
  • Exercising non-professional behavior with students, staff, alumni, community, employers or College guests
  • Not fulfilling job duties listed above after a timely warning/discussion from supervisor
  • Breach of privacy and confidentiality agreement, falsifying hours, or signatures on timesheets
  • Harassing and/or bullying behaviors
