Here is the latest neighbourhood update from the Aylesbury South Neighbourhood Policing Team, covering Southcourt, Walton Court/ Hawkslade, Elm Farm/ Mandeville.

The team consists of Inspector James Davies, Sergeant Steve Clewlow, PC’s Michael Cowdrey, PCSO’s Andrew White, Lee Abrahams, Rachel Matthews, Hayley Bateman.

Local priorities – “You said, we did”

You said: Reports of anti-social behaviour (ASB) in and around Walton Court, playing fields and Stoke Mandeville Hospital.

We did: Have increased patrols, using shift officers, neighbourhood officers and special constables.

You said: Drug misuse around Walton Court

We did: Again have increase our patrols and have liaised with VAHT, to improve the quality of life for residents in that area.

Good news:

We have seized two off road bikes, which were being used to ride around the playing fields. These have now been crushed, after the owners failed to come forward. Additionally we seized a large quantity of petrol, which we believe was being used run these bikes.

Various meetings have been held with partner agencies in regards to those who are constantly causing ASB in and around the area.

We are continuing to liaise with Neil Douglas, regarding issues in Coxhill Way and have recently walked around the area, pinpointing areas where better security is needed. One individual has been issued with a Red Card, after been found hiding in the carpark of Masters House, when he had no reason to be there.

A crime prevention event was held at Stoke Mandeville Hospital, alongside partner agencies and the Hospital Trust.

We are continuing to work with partner agencies and the PST, regarding individuals who are the cause of a high amount of ASB, across the area and to improve the life of residents.

Other news

On a more serious and disturbing note a report was made regarding the mutilation of a cat. Can we ask all pet owners to try and be mindful, with their pets. Any information regarding this or any other crime can be reported to us or via Crimestoppers.

Noise issues

We will continue to work with partner agencies regarding ASB. Noise issues such as music playing loudly are not deemed ASB and therefore the team are very limited in what we can realistically achieve. All noise issues need to be reported to the Environmental Health Services at the local council and housing provider who are better equipped to deal with these issues.

Parking Issues

Parking offences in Aylesbury Vale have been decriminalized, and the local authority have assumed responsibility for enforcement. In the rare case of police attendance over an issue of parking, it is down to the discretion of the attending officer to determine whether or not a ticket is to be issued.

It is not obstruction to park a roadworthy and legal vehicle outside someone else’s house.

If a vehicle is parked on a yellow line, it is the responsibility of the Council to deal with it, not the Police.

Can we remind parents/guardians about the need to park sensibly when it comes to dropping off and picking up children outside schools. Parking issues outside schools need to be either reported to the head of the school and/or Highways at the Council, who will send out enforcement officers.
