Overall Purpose: /

To ensure both community and corporate fundraising opportunities are maximized and awareness is increased of ellenor. To develop fundraising opportunities from local businesses and the local community and to raise awareness of the charity increasing support both in the short and longer term. This involves motivating people to donate to our cause and offering encouragement and support to those who fundraise on our behalf. This also includes developing initiatives to ensure sustainable income is generated.

Main Duties of Post:

  1. To identify and develop new relationships and partnerships with companies and business groups. To build and develop existing relationships proactively with businesses and community organisations.
  1. To increase business support through sponsorship, volunteer recruitment and donations.
  1. To manage and support Community and Corporate volunteers. To have regular meetings, to train, motivate and agree objectives and to conduct annual reviews. To ensure volunteers are utilised effectively and with relevance to their skill sets.
  1. To provide relevant opportunities for businesses to get involved in the development and implementation of team building days which benefit ellenor.
  1. Develop and update corporate/community fundraising packs, presentations, online information and other aids to promote fundraising within the community. Assist in developing general marketing and other materials that encourage support and raise awareness of the charity
  1. Work with the Events team to deliver Hospice-led events with particular responsibility for promoting and publicising those events in specific geographical areas.
  1. To promote ellenor by giving presentations and tours to businesses and community groups and attending business networking events as the representative of ellenor.
  1. Recruit and manage volunteers who assist the Fundraising Department.
  1. To work with existing volunteer fundraising groups and identify potential new groups in villages and towns within the area. To attend supporter groups at events as required.
  1. Ensure accurate, up to date records are kept within the Donorflex database. Develop and maintain efficient systems for managing and sharing information.
  1. Manage and facilitate the smooth running of the office – to include letter response, holiday forms and absence records. To provide general support for the fundraising department and act as liaison for other departments within the Hospice.
  1. Work in partnership across the Fundraising team on any aspects of fundraising when required as directed by the Head of Community, Corporate and Events

General Responsibilities:

13.To undertake mandatory training as required by ellenor and participate in appropriate education, learning and development.

14.Maintain confidentiality of all information acquired especially with regard to patients, carers, staff and volunteers.

15.To undertake an appraisal annually and, through self-development, continuously update and improve knowledge and competencies.

16.To be a co-operative and supportive member of the Hospice staff team, ensuring that their line manager is aware of any issues in the post holder’s workload, which may affect other members of the Hospice team.

17.To respect and guide all volunteers utilised in your area and to develop effective working relationships including, when requested by management, providing regular feedback on their performance.

18.To take responsibility for being up to date with current policies and procedures and to adhere to these.

19.Co-operating fully in the introduction of any new technology and new methods of working as appropriate. Strive to have a high level of IT literacy.

20.To promote at all times the Hospice philosophy and uphold ellenor core values.

21. Any other duties that may be reasonably requested.
