DIRECTOR OF ADULT TENNIS
JOB DESCRIPTION
Responsible for the management and growth of all USTA Tennessee Adult Tennis including Tournaments, Programs, Special Events and Leagues. Oversee the planning and implementation of strategies for the growth and participation of all Adult areas of the sport statewide. Serve as a resource for volunteers and staff alike to promote Adult grass roots programming with community partners and Community Tennis Associations. Plan and manage current USTA TN Adult events and tournaments as well as seek out and create new opportunities for promotion and play. Oversee and direct all marketing initiatives and communication outlets for Adult Programming across the state. Work in partnership with both Sectional and National partners to reach the strategic goals of the state. Serve as the staff liaison for the USTA TN Adult Competition Committee.
QUALIFICATIONS:
· Bachelor degree required
· Strong organizational skills
· Excellent oral and written communication skills
· Thorough understanding of USTA Programming, TDM, and TennisLink
· Computer skills with MS Outlook, Word, Excel, Access, Power Point, and Publisher
· Familiarity with Website content management
· Tennis background preferable
RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Manage and oversee all USTA TN Adult League Programs, Adult Tournament Programs and Adult Social Programs.
· Assist Executive Director in developing an overall plan for Strategic Growth for USTA TN Adult Tennis.
· Work with local Community Tennis Associations to attract new Adult players as well as provide quality programs for experienced Adult players.
· Lead, motivate, and develop State and Local League Coordinators to promote and grow Adult programming in local communities.
· Establish and design an LLC Training Program through webinars, workshops, and marketing materials.
· Timely plan and execute a marketing plan for the Adult League and Adult Tournament Calendar Year.
· Develop relationships with Tennis Professionals, Facility Managers, and Tournament Directors to promote and build USTA Tournaments and Special Events.
· Assist in organizing all USTA TN State League Championships and Adult State Championships.
· Design and Implement new Adult Social Programs that attract underrepresented adult markets: 18-35 ages, beginners, retirement communities, etc.
· Maintain integrity of Leagues program by serving as the liaison between sectional and national offices and local league coordinators
· Serve as the staff liaison for the USTA TN Adult Competition Committee.
Requirements:
· Attend the USTA Tennessee, Southern, and National Meetings when applicable.
· Travel across Tennessee as necessary for Meetings and Events.
Reports to: USTA Tennessee Executive Director
