NYCAMH Provides Farm Safety Info and Health Screenings at Empire Farm Days

Seneca Falls, NY. The New York Center for Agricultural Medicine and Health (NYCAMH) provides information and screenings to help keep Empire Farm Days visitors informed about safety and health. NYCAMH activities at the August 7-9, 2018 show at Rodman Lott and Son Farms in Seneca Falls, NY, will include:

•Free skin cancer screenings: 9:00AM-12:00 PM and 1:00 PM-3:00PM Tuesday and Wednesday only. Free hearing/vision screening: Thursday only: 9:00AM-12:00 PM and 1:00-3:00PM

  • Free blood pressure screenings, and migrant worker health resources offered

by Finger Lakes Community Health staff

  • State Slow Moving Vehicle, ATV, and Lighting laws information provided by

New York State Police Troop E Traffic Headquarters

  • Information related to drivers’ licenses, hazardous materials, load securement, and roadside inspections provided by New York State Department of Transportation
  • Information on services for farmers from the New York State Department of Labor
  • Sign up for theNational ROPS (Rollover Protective Structure) Rebate

Program and receive a 70% rebate. Will be raffling off two ROPS kits!

  • Farm safety displays
  • Personal protective equipment (PPE) and power takeoff (PTO) shields for sale
  • Fire Extinguisher Demonstrations – Come watch or you can participate. Actually try out an extinguisher and put out a fire!
  • Youth Activity - “Wheel of Safety” available for children of all ages
  • Offering a private place to relax for moms with nursing babies.

Additional information on all NYCAMH serviceswill be available in the Farm Bureau Family Education Center tent.
