SUBJECT:2016-2017 PARISH ANNUAL FINANCIAL REPORT (PAFR)

The Parish Annual Financial Report spreadsheet has been updated for 2016-17. ThisExcel file can be accessed and downloaded as follows:

  1. Open your web browser and navigate to the Diocesan website at
  2. Click on “Pastoral Center”in the upper left corner, and then click thelink to the “Fiscal”department’s webpage.
  3. Along the left side of the Fiscal webpage, you will find the “PAFR Spreadsheet” (Excel file) and “PAFR Memo” (this document). Select the ‘PAFR Spreadsheet’ to download the file. Open the file in Excel by clicking on the downloaded file that appears on the bottom of your screen.
  4. Immediately save this spreadsheet to your local network/computer before you begin working on it. Please include your parish’s name (or acronym) in the file name. (Example: OLOV FY17 PAFR.xls)
  5. Please review all of the instructions and schedules in this spreadsheet thoroughly before you start closing your books for year-end or entering any data into the PAFR. Please note: There are suggested accounts/line items included in the PAFR. These are provided to help you identify the types of financial activity could/should be included in each section. You may use these names/descriptions if they are applicable to your parish. If they are not, please override them with the appropriate information.

*****PLEASE DO NOT USE ANY PRIOR YEARS’ VERSION OF THIS REPORT!*****

The timeline for the PAFR process is:

  • Close the parish’s books for the fiscal year no later than August 1, 2017, being certain to address all of the line items and activity needed for the PAFR.
  • From now through September, I will be available by phone (520-838-2555) or email () for one-on-one assistance answering questions related to year-end close, helping complete the PAFR, and/or reviewing your PAFR before submission if you would like. Please do not hesitate to contact me!
  • When the PAFR report is ready for review by the parish’s Board of Directors, please email the Excel spreadsheet file along with a(PDF or Excel) file of your balance sheet and income statement to Danielle Eckhoff at . Your completed, approved submission
    must be received by Danielle no later than SEPTEMBER 30TH.
  • Once your PAFRhas been approved by the Board, please then send Danielle theoriginal, completed signature page via U.S. mail, fax,or by scanning and emailing it to her at the above email address. Please note that if no changes have been made to your PAFR/financial statements, it is not necessary to resubmit these files.
