Re: VA File #: xx-x- x-xxxxxxx
Dear Dr. Shulkin,

I need your help resolving issues with our VA loan. We moved to Tampa, FL
for a new job.We immediately found a house for purchase and began the lending process.
Everything went quicklyand smoothly until we were green-lighted for the home appraisal by the VAappraiser.

The appraiser took several days to initiate the appraisal, then another six
days to report theresults and upload to the VA web portal. Our lending agent then notified us
that the appraisalreport was lacking a photo and legal description, so he notified the
appraiser. Then, the waitingbegan.

After a week of waiting, we called the appraiser. But, nothing happened. We
have waitedover two weeks (and counting) for the additional files to be uploaded to
the VA portal.Meanwhile, we have been living in a hotel accumulating lodging and food
costs while theappraiser takes his time. We tried elevating the situation, but nothing
helped. Currently, we areat $x,xxx in extra costs.

Our appraiser, who was assigned on April xx, is listed on the appraisal as:
Pxxx Jxxxxxx –000000, Jxxxxxx Appraisal Services. We find the work unacceptable.

This is no way to treat veterans. Two things need to happen: 1) this
appraiser may need totake action so that he does not cause further harm to veterans seeking to
close home loans, and 2)I’d like your help recovering the funds we’ve spent in transitional
housing, which I planned to useon my first mortgage payment.

I plead with you to correct this injustice immediately. As one who stillserves our nation bywearing the uniform, I believe the VA should do better to care for our vets.
Sincerely,
