Letter of Recommendation for Dr. Amy Greene

December 1, 2016

It is a pleasure to write a letter of recommendation for Dr. Greene. We have worked together for over five years. After working with Amy for only a short time, her professionalism, enthusiasm and knowledge were so apparent that she was appointed to be one of six online mentors of our professional development courses.

Her coaching observations have always been stellar. In a recent report written by her coach, she was commended as follows:
Amy, you are managing this class of 18 well! Guidance and support are being provided to keep them in the correct places and answer any questions they may have. You are also providing many tips and suggestions to help them increase their management strategies, which I am sure they appreciate.

Amy and I have spoken on the phone many times. She is always gracious and very conscientious about her teaching responsibilities. Over and over, through observations and participant evaluations, the theme seems to be her involvement with her students and her making the online experience successful for them.

Below are two sets of comments, one from four years ago and one from this past summer. The consistency in feedback comments is impressive:

Summer Session 2012:

Always had assignments graded in a timely manner.

Keep us up to date with any errors on pages loading. She also informed us if we didn't do something right before the deadline so we could get as many points possible.

She stayed in constant contact with us and made it clear what was complete and what we still needed to work on.

The facilitator did a great job of grading in a timely manner, responding to students' posts, addressing each topic at the end of each week, and creating a feeling of community by initiating fun conversations. Through her written communications you could feel her genuine care for people and her passion for teaching. She also shows deep respect and truly understands the busy role of a teacher. I'd be happy to take another course from her again.

Summer Session 2016:

Dr. Greene answered questions quickly. Dr. Greene communicated through "Announcements" and "From Your Instructor" on a regular basis. Dr. Greene explained the assignments well. Dr. Greene graded assignments promptly.

Dr. Greene was fantastic at communication and always provided fair advice and assessment.

I think she did a good job of explaining modules and being encouraging as we progressed through the course.

She responded quickly to questions I had and also graded assignments quickly.

The facilitator effectively encouraged and modeled a civil tone in discussion forums. She replied within a day to questions asked via the Canvas Conversation/Inbox.

Dr. Amy Greene is a valued member of our online instructional cadre. Please contact me with any questions.
