2014 Senior Scholarship

The Lebanon Junior Soccer Club (LJSC) is an established

organization of volunteers dedicated to the development of

appreciation for the competition and sportsmanship in

Lebanon’s youth through the game of soccer. The LJSC invites

Lebanon residents graduating from an accredited high

school in June 2014 to apply for this scholarship of $1,000.

To qualify for this scholarship, an individual must be a resident

of Lebanon and have been accepted at an institute of

higher education with the intent to further their education

beyond high school. The individual must have participated

in the LJSC program for a minimum of 3 years as a player,

referee, coach, or other volunteer.

Application Requirements:

1. Complete the attached application page.

2. Obtain one letter of recommendation, preferably from an individual involved in your soccer career.

3. Provide a list of extra curricular activities.

4. Include a one page essay describing:

· The importance of the availability of youth sports in the community

· How I plan to support youth sports in the future

· What is more important — playing or playing to win

The above materials must be submitted as a package to the Lyman High School Guidance Office or mailed to LJSC Senior Scholarship Committee, PO Box 90, Lebanon, CT 06249 by May 24, 2014 . The scholarship will be awarded during the Lyman High School Graduation ceremonies.
