Application Requirements of Nankai Chair Professor

For Applicants of humanities and social sciences:

1. The applicants are supposed to be first-class scholars and academic leaders in their research fields, with internationally recognized academic reputation and influence, significant and innovative research achievements, as well as an honest, rigorous and matter-of-the-fact attitude in teaching and research work.

2. Physical and mental health is also needed. The applicants are supposed to be currently working in their research fields and able to conduct teaching and scientific research work.

3. The applicants should meet one of the following requirements,

(1). Be selected into the National Thousand Talents Program or Thousand Foreign Experts Program;

(2). No more than 55 years old, as professor or other equivalent positions in world leading universities or research institutes with international peer recognition in their research fields;

(3). Be professor for more than 18 years and meet at least two of the following excitation conditions:

1)founder or outstanding contributor of certain subjects or majors;

2)president of national academic association or contributor to the association’s establishment and academic exchanges, with great reputation in academic circles;

3)convener of the discipline appraisal group of Academic Degrees Committee of the State Council;

4)awardee of National Teaching Master Award of Ministry of Education;

5)awardee of national awards such as first prize of excellent achievement award of the National Social Science Foundation (first unit & first author), or first prize of National Teaching Achievement Award (first unit & first author), or first prize of Scientific Research Achievement Award in Higher Education Institutions (first unit & first author).

For Applicants of natural sciences:

1. The applicants are supposed to be first-class scholars and academic leaders in their research fields, with internationally recognized academic reputation and influence, significant and innovative research achievements, as well as an honest, rigorous and matter-of-the-fact attitude in teaching and research work.

2. Physical and mental health is also needed. The applicants are supposed to be currently working in their research fields and able to conduct teaching and scientific research work.

3. The applicants should meet one of the following requirements,

(1). Be selected as outstanding talents of National Special Support Program;

(2).Academician of Chinese Academy of Sciences or Chinese Academy of Engineering;

(3). Be selected into the National Thousand Talents Program or Thousand Foreign Experts Program;

(4). No more than 55 years old, as professor or other equivalent positions in world leading universities or research institutes with international peer recognition in their research fields.
