Following a successful pilot of senior leadership training a new package of courses has been developed to meet the needs of aspiring leaders and senior leaders in schools.

The range of our programmefor 2018-19 reflects our increasingly diverse customer base, offering training to those involved in management and leadership in maintained schools and academies.

The 2018/19 rolling programme delivers a flexible range of development opportunities designed to meet the needs of headteachers, principals, aspiring senior leaders and SLT members.

What you can expect

We will provide:

a programme of training courses and briefings on a wide variety of topics

networking opportunities

seminars to disseminate information about legislation and changes in working practices in response to local and national issues

We will:

ensure that courses have clear aims and objectives

monitor the quality of training provided

take account of feedback

ensure that the information provided is current and accurate

provide training that is accessible to all those involved in senior leadership and working towards senior leadership posts.

What we ask of you

You will:

encourage SLT members and aspiring leaders to attend appropriate training and development sessions

provide feedback on the training attended

evaluate the outcomes resulting from attending the training

The rolling programme will be published on the MK Leadership and Governance website

As the programme aims to respond to the needs of its users it will be developed on a rolling basis with additions made to the programme throughout the year.

Please note that the programme for Sept 2018 – July 2019 will not be published until June 2018.

About us

The service is managed and organised by a team of experienced and skilled staff, with a high level of expertise in running leadership training and development events. All our advisors/trainers have worked within education for many years.

Training providers external to Milton Keynes Council are all subject to a procurement process to ensure the quality of training and best value. Many are senior leaders or have been in the past. A facilitator, who has the specialist skills and knowledge of the subject matter, leads all training sessions.

Cost

This training is available on a pay as use basis with the following discounts:

Multiple bookings on one course

  • Each additional place on a course will be charged at 50% of the full price

Early bird offer :

  • purchase five half day places (£50) by 30 September 2018 and receive a 20% discount (£200)
  • purchase 10 half day places (£50) by 30 September and receive a 25% discount (£375)

This service will commence in September 2018 for the academic year 2018-2019.

Payment details

‘Pay as use’ invoices will be submitted at the end of the term during which the training had been undertaken.

Cancellation

Courses cancelled within 2 days of a course will not be eligible for a refund. Courses cancelled 3 or more days in advance of a course will receive a 100% refund less a cancellation administration charge of £50. If a bespoke training session is cancelled within 10 days of the agreed date there will be no refund.

One year – September 2018 -July 2019
