LEAD FIELD CREW MAINTENANCE WORKER (Driver)
(Job Description)
DEFINITION
Under general supervision of the Field Crew Operations Manager, performs a wide variety of general maintenance, repairs, and cleaning of properties, including lawn care, maid service, and trash clean. Employees in the Lead Field Crew Maintenance Worker classification are responsible for driving to and from the work site and leading a small crew of Field Crew Maintenance Workers. Employees are expected to be fully qualified and able to perform a wide variety of work in the maintenance and repair of properties; work within the framework of established work methods and procedures, while referring non-procedural questions to the Field Crew Operations Manager. This is an “at-will” position.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED
Receives general supervision from the Field Crew Operations Manager.
Exercises technical and functional supervision over lower level Field Crew Maintenance Workers.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
The following duties are typical for this classification. Incumbents may not perform all of the listed duties and/or may be required to perform additional or different duties from those set forth below to address business needs and changing business practices.
- Perform yard maintenance activities, including mowing, trimming, weeding, setting and repairing sprinklers, hedging, and other lawn care duties
- Make minor repairs and perform general maintenance duties, including removing and replacing smoke detectors, replacing locks and doors, repairing faucets, removing hardware, strapping water heaters, fixing toilets, bathtubs/showers, sinks, and securing properties.
- Clean, vacuum, dust, wash windows, mop, and perform other related cleaning duties.
- Perform trash out duties, including removal of all outside/inside trash and debris.
- Clean and maintain all equipment, operates a variety of tools, including lawn mower, weeding tools, leaf blower, and other tools related to property maintenance.
- Follow all client/contract agreements and guidelines; ensures all maintenance services is completed by taking photos before, during, and after repairs, completing appropriate paperwork documenting all cleaning, repairs, and maintenance of properties.
- Provide technical and functional supervision to crew members; ensure crews are following safety rules and policies; provide input related to performance evaluations.
- Safely operate a motor vehicle; drive to and from work site and ensure vehicle is in proper working condition.
- Communicate effectively and establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
- Performs related duties as assigned.

- Standard practices and tools used in the maintenance and repair of properties.
- Safety practices and procedures related to property maintenance.
- Laws, rules and regulations related to driving.

- Answer a variety of questions related to business operations and office procedures.
- Exercise sound judgment when initiating processes, actions, and alternatives within established procedures and regulations.
- Lead a small crew of maintenance staff.
- Provide technical and functional supervision to lower level staff.
- Safely operate and maintain maintenance equipment.
- Safely operate a motor vehicle.
- Accurately document repairs.
- Communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships.
- Locate, identify, and correct inaccurate or incomplete information.

- Travel and stay overnight from time to time
WORKING CONDITIONS
Work is generally carried out in an outsideenvironment with exposure to various weather conditions. Employee will frequently travel to multiple job sites. Employee will:
- Frequently climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, stand and walk.
- Frequently push, pull, grasp and carry while walking.
- Use a variety of tools and equipment.
- Frequently lift, push or pull up to 75 pounds.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Any combination of education and experience that would likelyprovide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain theknowledge and abilities would be:
Possession of a high school diploma or GED;
AND
Experience performing general maintenance duties, including lawn care, cleaning, and minor repair work. A valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record is required.
