Stanislav Kochanovsky was born in St. Petersburg and studied at the Glinka Choir School. He graduated with honors at the famous St. Petersburg Rimsky-Korsakov Conservatoire studying choral conducting with Prof. Tatiana Khitrova (2004), organ with Prof. Nina Oksentyan(2004) and opera-symphonic conducting with Prof. Alexander Titov (2008). During his studies participated in master classes of Colin Metters, Mikhail Jurowski, EriKlas, Victor Yampolsky, Yuri Simonov and gained enthusiastic recommendations: “He is a natural and an intelligent musician with a fluent technique with a strong sense of sound and style” wrote Colin Metters; “I consider Mr. Kochanovsky one of the brightest and most promising young conductors in Russia today” wrote Victor Yampolsky.

In 2010 Stanislav was appointed Principal conductor of Kislovodsk Philharmonic. His activity already includes more than 50 symphonic programs, 5 festivals and 6 opera productions. Highlights were Scriabin's Prometheus “Poem of fire” and 3rd Symphony “Le DivinPoeme”, Rachmaninov Cycle including new Aleko production, Mahler's Das Lied von der Erde, Gulda’s Cello Concerto. The tours with the Orchestra to Kazan, Vladikavkaz and Moscow have been well received by critics: "Orchestra led by S. Kochanovsky proved itself to be a firm, well-organized, balanced team, and has shown perfect ensemble with beautiful soft sound and inspiration. For the short time conductor succeeded to approach an ideal contact with the Orchestra"–wrote Musical News on Kislovodsk Orchestra concert in Moscow's Tchaikovsky Hall.

First opera engagements took him in season 2006/2007 to St. Petersburg's Chamber Opera, Rimsky-Korsakov Theatre of Conservatory, Theatre of Musical Comedy and to Moscow's New Opera as assistant for a new production of Lohengrin. In 2007 began an intensive collaboration with the Mikhailovsky Theatre which brought over 60 opera & ballet performances as well as a London Coliseum debut.

As a guest conductor Stanislav worked on new opera productions at the Mariinsky Theatre and the Flemish Opera in Belgium. Stanislav Kochanovsky has more than 30 operas and ballets in his repertoire: “Stanislav Kochanovsky in his 30 years managed to become one of the best young conductors in the country, playing with all the Best Russian orchestras. […] It is already obvious that this young man is a phenomenon. He is uniquely sophisticated in his sense of music and style. […] Easily and elegantly he took the musicians away from heroic swing to delicate and tender pianissimo so that the orchestra of 120 instruments sounds like a warm sensuous whisper.” - wrote Udm-info after the debut with the renowned Svetlanov Symphony Orchestra in 2012.

The year 2013 brought an invitation to conduct a Stars of the White Nights Festival concert with the outstanding Mariinsky Symphony Orchestra: "That was it - CO-nsonance. Orchestra, conductor and soloist were entirely united. Thank you for this heavenly pleasure!" - Musical Klondike on Chopin’s Piano Concerts with Philipp Kopachevsky. Kochanovsky is also collaborating with the Moscow's and St. Petersburg's Philharmonic, National Philharmonic Orchestra of Russia, State Symphony Orchestra “Novaya Rossiya”, State Academic Capella and Hermitage Orchestras, Volgograd and Yaroslavl Symphony Orchestras.

Parallel to his positions in Russia, his international career also is fast developing. First appearances in recent years brought him to Filarmonica Arturo Toscanini, Frankfurt Radio Symphony Orchestra, Hamburger Symphoniker, Finnish Radio Symphony, Haydn Orchestra of Bolzano and Trento, I PomeriggiMusicali, Orchestra Sinfonica Tito Schipa, Lithuanian Symphony Orchestra, Tallinn Chamber Orchestra, Silesian Philharmonic Orchestra, Antalya Symphony Orchestra: “Kochanovsky exhibited perfect control over performance and offered a delicate and consistent interpretation” wrote Classica e Lirica on Dvorak’ Serenade for Strings with I PomeriggiMusicali.

In April 2014 made his debut with NationalAcademy ofSanta Cecilia Orchestra in Rome. «Stanislav Kochanovsky has been a true revelation. He is a young conductor ready to be one of the protagonists of the musical life of the future. He showed such a ductility and a talent, as well as a way to galvanize and lead the orchestrathat reminds the older ones. It has been a wonderful discovery… a beautiful performance, where there is a force, a brilliancy but at the same time a wonderful clarity and lyricism» the journalist Michele Suozzohas declared on RAI Radio 3 after the live broadcasting.

Highlights of the upcoming seasons include the debut with LaVerdi Symphony Orchestra (Milan), Orchestra RAI (Turin), Orchestra National d'Ile de France, Israel Symphony Orchestra, The North Netherlands Symphony Orchestra and tour with Svetlanov Symphony Orchestra to Germany.
