JOB GOAL:Provide high quality instruction to high school students in classroom and lab settings that help students develop the skills, knowledge, and work habits required for employment and future learning in the CyberSecurity & Digital Forensics industry.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Possess Bachelor’s degree with major emphasis in any of the following areas OR be eligible for CTE certification in Cyber Security or related field:

  1. Two years recent, relevant work experience in the career field.
  2. Extensive knowledge of the CyberSecurity & Digital Forensics industry and all related job titles, preferred.
  3. Effective leadership skills to include: program development, strong communication skills, program and Career Center marketing to the community, presentation skills and Career Center committee involvement.
  4. Previous experience with high school student population desired.
  5. Content knowledge of A+, Linux+, Server Operating Systems, Switching and Routing, Cisco Networking Academy, VMWare Implementation and Development, CISSP, CEH, MCSE, MCSA, preferred.

SUPERVISOR:Career Center Administration

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (other duties may be assigned):

  • Provides career and technical education (CTE) program instruction, program management and curriculum development.
  • Develop high quality lessons and lab activities which provide the basis for rich student learning, using real life experiences, outside experts, and other industry resources whenever possible.
  • Prepare students for certification and testing in CyberSecurity & Digital Forensics field certifications.
  • Maintains a current advisory committee involved in business and industry.
  • Is actively involved with Bay-Arenac ISD Career Center school committees.
  • Demonstrates leadership involvement with student clubs.
  • Provides leadership role in the development of professional and post-secondary partnerships.
  • Plans a program of study that meets the individual needs, interests and abilities of the student.
  • Creates a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of the students
  • Encourages students to set and maintain standards of classroom behavior.
  • Employs a variety of instructional techniques and instructional media, consistent with the physical limitations of the locations provided and the needs and capabilities of the individuals or student groups involved.
  • Assesses the accomplishments of students on a regular basis and provides progress reports.
  • Maintains accurate, complete, correct records, and program documentation as required by law and district policy.
  • Makes provisions for being available to students and parents for education-related purposes outside the instructional day.
  • Ability to work with high school population to include extracurricular activities such as student clubs (BPA), fundraisers and other events.
  • Ability to effectively develop curriculum and lesson plans that address Michigan CTE computer and information systems/information assurance standards.
  • Ability to network within the community, develop partnerships, an advisory committee, and assist in the development of work-based learning sites for students.
  • Attend all required meetings and participate in all activities essential to the MDE/OCTE approval of the program.
  • Organize field trips and BPA functions, while enriching our local BPA chapter.

SALARY RANGE (2016-17):$40,009 $54,816
